I(24M) know a lot of guys now are lonely, the number of dudes never having a girlfriend, sex or even kissing a girl into their late teens and some even before that, but what about women surely there has to be about an equal amount of girls are also lonely?

Is there a female lonelyness problem that people just aren't talking about?

If someone is talking about could y'all direct me to it?

Thanks.

I was talking to a few guys a while back and we hit the topic of body hair on a woman and they all stood firm on the fact that it’s disgusting but I don’t see why it’s so appalling. It’s just hair, what difference does it make??

Maybe there is some bias here I’m not seeing, but I occasionally see people post about their jobs in Reddit. I’ve noticed people making sub 100k are talking about how they’re over worked, have a degree and are deep in college debt. But the people earning 250k+ all say their work day is mostly meetings and they get plenty of vacations and days off. I would think that the more you make, the more responsibility and hence more work. But why does it seem the opposite? It might be worth mentioning a lot of the people I see are in some sort of director position.

We've been together for 3 years, we both love the outdoors and animals, I've always known she wants to have animals when we buy our own house (which realistically is only a year or so away). But I thought it was just like some veg plots, chickens and maybe a pig. She's always wanted that. Although after some discussions recently she's really adamant she wants all of that plus cows, goats and essentially live on and be fully sustainable on a farm.

That sounds amazing but I don't want to live my life running a farm. she wants to homeschool our future children, so that'll be a lot of work for her and plus we'd be taking care of quite a lot of animals. I'm happy to help out in all aspects of that kind of life, I've never shied away from that, but my issue is all of those animals sounds like a lot of work. I'll want the weekends to spend with the her, the kids, and when they moved out I'd want to spend more time with her and do what I want as well. Then I'll obviously help her sometimes with the animals but I just don't want all my time at that point in my life taken by animal care and I'd feel awful if she'd have to do so much more with the animals than me.

I don't want to hold her back from having a farm if that's what she wants but am I missing the point here and maybe over thinking how much work it'll be?

TLDR: My partner wants to essentially live on a farm living self sufficiently but at that point in my life I'd want more freedom than just looking after animals. Am I over thinking this or will it actually be a proper life style I'd need to commit to?

I'm currently watching The Sopranos and the daughter's name is Meadow. It got me thinking that so many women's names are also things - Willow, Heather, Hope, Ivy, Pearl, June, Lily, Savannah, Ruby, Rose, Hazel, Scarlett, April etc etc. Meanwhile, I can't think of a single male name that is the name of a thing.

Is there something about how forenames developed over time, where women were named for feminine seeming things? But then it seems odd that the same is not true for men with traditionally masculine seeming things. Why do we not have men called Oak, Glacier or Stag? (just to clarify, I personally do not agree with the assignment of genders to inanimate objects, I'm thinking about historical attitudes though.)

I know that in the last 10-15 years, people have started naming their children with far more original names (e.g. Cheryl Cole's kid, Bear) but I'm thinking more standard names.

Like if someone were being untoward or outright offensive/hostile, would it be a normal response to toss your drink in their face? Haven't been in this situation personally, but I imagine it's like spit takes in that no one actually does it but we see it in media all the time.

Last night I was walking home, and a cop pulled into a parking lot and turned on his lights. He called me over to him as I was crossing the driveway he pulled into.

He asked me if I've been breaking into cars. I said no. He said I look exactly like someone that was caught on video breaking into cars. He kept asking where I live, and if I've been in trouble before. I gave him my ID. He went back to his car to run it.

When he came back, he showed me a picture on his phone and said "this is the security camera footage, you see why I thought it might have been you."

The picture he showed me was an overweight man with dark hair. I am a 5'3" blonde woman. There is no way in a million years that anyone could have confused me for the person in that image. And how would running my ID verify that I'm not the person in that picture?

What happened here? I've never been accused of a crime before, and I didn't know what was happening. Would I have been allowed to just keep walking when he called to me?

What is the most optimal way to invest this into something that makes profit. Thinking of day trading some volatile stocks or flipping cars by fixing and selling them. Any other smarter ideas ? Preferably not long term as I want to have 100,000 by next year

Living in Dubai, there’s a lot of people from India (South Asia in general) and i notice that a fairly large number of them smell bad, like they don’t use deodorant.

I have heard many theories but they don’t add up. With the two most common being.

  1. The weather: sure, it’s hot af here, we sweat a lot and a lot of Indians do very labor intensive work. But then again, this happens with Indians regardless of their job and sometimes even socioeconomic status.
  2. The food: I’ve heard some people say it’s their diet that makes them smell like that, but that just sounds ridiculous. Here in Dubai many people eat Indian food on a regular basis and they don’t smell like that.

So, what’s going on here? I want to think there is some reasonable answer, something other than “they just don’t like using deodorant”.

I don't actually think I've heard of this decade referred to as simply "the twenties," but always "the twenty twenties." Very rarely "the two thousand twenties."

Is there something special about the decades of the last century that they're gonna hold onto those nicknames?

I have really bad anxiety and I have a frog plushie that really helps me - he's super good for grounding techniques and he just makes me feel better. I always have him with me while I'm at home, but I haven't taken him anywhere with me yet even though I really want to. What would you think if you saw an adult walking down the street/round the shops with a plushie? If somebody said something to me out in public that would really trigger my anxiety, so it's a fine line and I'm not sure what tips the scales in terms of cost/benefit

Hello,

I have a question. I met this guy through my organic chemistry lab. We both became lab partners and I decided I wanted to befriend him. He seemed nice and talked about diverse topics.

So one day I ask him at the door if he ever wants to hang out or something. He said sure. That same day he asks me if I wanted to get coffee but I couldn’t. So I told him how about in the weekend when I would be free! While texting he said if I ever want to go over his apartment and look at posters I could. I didn’t think much of it.

Then we hung out Sunday. We had a good convo around the park. Once it was time to head home we passed by his place and he asked me “Wanna come see my place?” And I said “I can’t I have to head home to do homework.”

He said that’s fine and walked me to my place. Then the next day we were msging and he asked if I want to come over that afternoon. I said no.

But I keep finding it weird he wants me to come over his place. Idk if I’m over thinking it or not.

This is NOT a judgemental question. I'm just a straight white guy who wants to be a better ally and doesn't have anyone irl to ask.

I've noticed some people going by he/their or they/her pronouns, or some similar combination. What is the reasoning behind it?

I can't think of a better way to phrase the question. Please don't come at me or downvote me to hell. I just want to have a better understanding of this aspect of the LGBTQIA+ community.

End of day at work today (I work for a car rental company) I was given a customer pick up sheet. This was what’s considered a “pop fly” customer meaning they didn’t originally have a reservation, but we had a car available so we took their reservation.

I was the one who got sent to pick this customer up as they needed a ride, and as I stated it was very close to the end of the day. Now in this town from 3pm-5pm traffic is an absolute NIGHTMARE, what would be a normal 5-7 minute drive one way at 11am is a 15-17 or more minute drive one way.

Anyways I picked the customer up, and we chatted the whole drive specifically about how awful the traffic was.

As for background on this customer they lived in a very affluent area, they mentioned the business they owned, as well as several properties in other states, basically it’s clear these people aren’t hurting for money.

We got back to the branch and he stopped me and said hold on, reached into his pocket and handed me a cash tip, I usually will get $5-$10 here and there, so I just thanked him and reminded him it was no issue at all!

I clocked off went to my car and went to put the tip I received in my stash of small bills only to realize he handed me a $50 bill.

Should I contact them and let them know they may of handed me the incorrect bill?? Or am I overthinking it? I don’t want to feel like I stole from them or something.

“I'm 100% planning on quitting but the only way I can think to do it is to be physically unable to work there so I'm gonna break something, but my mom said if I'm gonna do that I need to wait till we get our new insurance so that way I'm not swamped by medical bills”. For context we work in different departments of the store she technically works there but it’s for a different company. I would say hi and we Would make small talk everytime we seen each other but we’re not close. And during one of the conversations I said I wanted to quit because my job was getting on my nerves. Then she got my number and texted me she was gonna do a pros and cons but I didn’t respond but then she sent me this text I don’t know her backstory or her life we’ve only met like 2.5 months ago. Should I be concerned? I didn’t respond because what do you even respond to that. Should I respond?

My sisters birthday was coming up and she was away for the weekend. So her husband called me and asked if I could help plan/decorate the surprise party and I said sure, it wasn’t weird, we have have a friendly relationship so I just thought he wanted to plan the best party possible. The party would be at their house so after buying everything it took a couple hours to decorate after we finished we had a little drink and talked for about 10 minutes in the kitchen about work and his mom (boring stuff basically) till I told him that I would be heading out now, I put the glass in the sink turned around to grab my phone but before I could do that he grabbed me, turned me around, and kissed me, I was shocked.

I immediately pulled back and asked him what he was doing and he told me he was just drunk but that’s BS because it was literally just 1 shot. I tried running out but he pulled my hair back (that really pissed me off🙄😠 even tho I think he was trying to pull my shirt to stop me) eventually I did get home and now he won’t stop texting me begging me not to say anything, in his last text he basically bribed with 10,000💰(he’s rich, kinda) I’m mostly scared that my sister will resent me for breaking up her 3 year marriage if I tell her. I hate being put in this position, I know I should tell her but it’s been 12 days and I’m just not that brave to have that humiliating conversation. I’m kinda hoping he’ll cheat again with someone else and she’ll catch him with that stranger so I won’t be the reason she leaves, I know it sounds bad but it’s an easy way out😔

Located in New York, I get dinner a ton from a great local Mexican food truck. The guys are so friendly, I just wanna know if it's weird to say "gracias", "Buenos noches" even though it's clearly "Americanized" and not my native language. They speak Spanish to me so I feel like a dunce saying "have a good night"

I threw it in the trash because it seemed sus. Am I paranoid?

Due to perceived mental decline or a mismatch between abilities and the changing labour market(advancement in tech and such), folks around the ages of 70 and 80 are often considered as elderly individuals unfit for regular employment. But how come many presidents and other high-ranking officials are still in their late 70s and yet people seem to have no problem with it?!

Not sure if it’s the algorithm or what (through I don’t click on these posts), but I feel like I’ve seen an abundance of new subreddits pop up in which people are posting pictures asking for validation of their looks. I just seems like a sad trend to me and I feel for these people’s self-esteem.

Are others seeing these posts more frequently?

Like say you're in town and pulled into a parking spot, turned the car off and stepped out, leaned against the car and downed a shot? Drinking in public charge aside?
