This is NOT a judgemental question. I'm just a straight white guy who wants to be a better ally and doesn't have anyone irl to ask.

I've noticed some people going by he/their or they/her pronouns, or some similar combination. What is the reasoning behind it?

I can't think of a better way to phrase the question. Please don't come at me or downvote me to hell. I just want to have a better understanding of this aspect of the LGBTQIA+ community.
