When everybody's credit scores are shit, nobody's credit scores are shit. I learned that in 2008 after the housing crash.

The problem is not capitalism [...] it's really us expecting shit to be free

No, "we" are not the problem. "We" donated and participated (by making mods) and "we" are responsible for giving the site what value it had. If it had no value, then it couldn't have been sold.

Quit trying to blame the users for fuck's sake.

This, exactly. And running to Canada. Like fleeing the coming Nazi Germany by emigrating to Poland. Congratulations, you accomplished almost nothing.

Yay, slavery to Windows, sign me up! Now that we're getting devices running Linux that can do gaming thanks to Valve and Steam/Proton, the last fucking thing in the world I want to do is stay on Windows. I've switched literally all my applications to FOSS - games are the sole remaining reason I've stayed on Windows for this long. Come October, I'm switching to Linux 100%.

Perhaps we can bring out the Dildozer.

In looking through the pictures, this super-villain origin story stood out to me.

Lemmy is how Reddit was in 2010. Size is what degrades the experience, the larger Reddit got the more shit it became. I am hopeful that federation will be the secret sauce that saves Lemmy from the same enshittification as it grows.

Going to shows is a hobby of mine, I go to a lot of shows. But there is only one artist who I will never miss when he comes to town and it's Weird Al.

I cannot express strongly enough to anyone reading this who has never seen Al: do it! It's an elaborate comedy show, you don't have to know a single song to enjoy it. It's always drop-dead hilarious and worth twice whatever you pay for it.

Perhaps with the notable exception of his "Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tours" (there have been two so far, iirc) which are definitely more for the hardcore fans, though still funny as hell.

Never, ever, do what I do because it's very dangerous and always a horrible idea:

Kill Windows Update

I never used RIF but I came over at the same time due to the fuckery over mods. I quit all my mod positions that day too, no more working for Reddit for free.

Sadly true, but take heart. These people have stupid opinions about non-communicable things too. So many stupid opinions.

Ah, OK yeah that makes sense.

Saw a thread discussing the varieties of frozen pizza and it made me glad I make my own.

The pizza pictured is 16", costs about $2.75 to make and serves 2 people comfortably. Oh, and taste? There's really no comparison.

The only real barrier to anybody making pizza like this is just the willingness to practice. It does take a while to get it down, but once you do it's like second nature - and so worth it!

You can see content, but comment sections all say "there doesnt seem to be anything here."

This behavior is not the same on old.lemmy.dbzer0.com.

I apologize in advance.

I mean really.

Alexander, although being a Klingon by birth, was weak, having been raised by his only half Klingon mother among humans rather than Klingons. Whereas Jake, although human, was raised with a mind to take care of himself because of his absent father.

I believe Jake could take him. Hell, I believe Nog could take him.

I've noticed recently that a couple comments I made don't show up in my user page. If someone responds to my comment I can get to it through the notifications page, otherwise, I have no way to find/see it.

The message I can see through responses I can see was posted on to lemmygrad.ml, but I only ever use my lemmy.world account, so I assume the reason it doesn't show up on my user page has something to do with federation, but I just made a post that shows it was posted on lemmy.ml but it shows up on my user page. Is there any way to know when a post you're making might not show up on your user page?
