You don't agree to pay it. You can't opt out and if you don't pay you get put in jail. How is this not theft?

Are good. And accepting the weird or different was the way to go.

I'm old. I don't understand it.

This never made any sense to me whatsoever.

I've see all the physicists (Michio Kaku, Stephen Hawking, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, etc.) explain this principle but it doesn't make sense. They say that if you were to go to the moon and back at a certain speed near the speed of light, you might return to Earth a thousand years into the future like what happened in Planet of the Apes. But if you were going at the speed of light, you would arrive at the time light takes to arrive there. Why the dip? What is being missed?

In various countries with multi-party systems, there is the concept of government coalitions. As I understand it, it is similar to cartel agreements, which we prosecute under criminal law.

  • But why are coalitions legal and needed?
  • Why does the multi-party system in Switzerland work without coalitions?

Ok, ima be totally real with all of you, I dont know SHIT about cryptocurrency or none of that, the only reason im even checking the stock market is cus since it's ASTRONOMICALLY fucked rn, I figured I'd invest a little into S&P cus "why not"

I was checking it today and I was curious about Etherium and I noticed this MASSIVE spike and it just dips right back down all in like 20-30 minutes. Wtf happened? What caused this? Is there some kinda "pump and dump" happening?

This was taken just a few minutes ago...

And I took this one just now...

In Kotlin, I can set a bitmap to be 500x500 and use ScaledBitmap to load an image in to it at that size without wasted memory junk as far as I know.

Now I am trying to do this in javascript so I can have my website display it's images to scaled sizes of my choosing without having to load the full size of every image first or manually making and uploading multiple sizes.

Everything I'm seeing says there is no way in JS. My ELI5 here is WHY? What makes Kotlin have this but not JS?

sloplike screenshots for reference
