NGL this whole post was me trying to do a bit where I pretended to be the kind of guy that mistakenly watches the Dune movie from the 80s thinking it was the Dune movies from the 2020s and doesnt realize anything is up. I feel bad now because I think some people didn't catch on and I should have put this in c/badposting instead.
Big change that improved my life:
Going vegetarian. Totally revamped my relationship with food, reignited my love of cooking, noticably improved my health and saved me a lot of money (mostly because going to resturants/ordering takeout became largely infeasible).
Little things:
Electric kettle. Being able to quickly and efficiently bring water to a boil is incredibly useful for cooking, cleaning, and, if youre careful, taking a warm bath.
Analog Wrist Watch. I have a cheap, self winding watch and I wear it on the daily. There is something nice about not having to take out your phone to check the time, the seconds hand is immensely useful, and it really helps launder my image as a person who is "put together". Interviewers like it and I always wear one while "networking".
Boot Dryer. This one depends on your region and season, but a functioning boot dryer is basically indespensable in the winter in some places. They work alright for soaked sneakers too.
Home coffeemaking equipment. This isnt cheap per-se, but if its replacing a daily habit of going out to buy coffee at a cafe it will save you a lot of money in the long run regardless of upfront costs. There is something very satisfying about the morning ritual of measuring, grinding, pouring, waiting, and drinking. There are also electric coffeemakers that can be programmed to start brewing as soon as you wake up if thats more your style. Those can be had for less than twenty bucks at thrift stores.
Admittedly, I don't think these suggestions were all that cheap, but they have certainly been impactful for me at least.

Capris are pretty GOATed and deeply underrated. Cooler than regular pants while giving some coverage, usually have pockets, and go with a lot of different outfits.
This summer I'm wearing the same things I always do: sleeveless + unbuttoned shirt + pants/shorts/capris + watch, earrings, and other doodads. Very versatile, very adaptable, lots of fun combonations. This year Ive been ditching the bra occasionally since the white tank top + nipple piercings - bra getup is iconic.

Timothee Chalamet was a surprisingly good Paul Atreides but WTF happened to Zendaya? She looked nothing like this in Spiderman. The end of the movie wrapped things up pretty good so is part 2 an adaptation of Dune Messiah or something?

Boeing has been awarded the contract for the NGAD program, and will produce the next generation of fighter jets used by the United States. The aircraft is said to be the first 6th generation fighter, said to employ novel technologies such as AI assistance. It will be part of a new "family of systems" that will include unmanned "loyal wingman" fighter aircraft . The designation F-47 appears to pay homage to Donald Trump, the 47th president.
The Wall Street Journal says that the price tag per aircraft will be "several hundred million each", for reference, the final cost per F-35 is around $80 million.

In a surprise move the Biden Campaign has announced that they will be abandoning Vice President Kamala Harris and replacing her with President Biden's legally embattled son, Hunter. During a noontime press release on Sunday Biden campaign manager Julie Chávez Rodriguez explained:
"Recent polling numbers suggested that we needed a course correction in order to win in the upcoming November election. Polls have found that Vice President Harris has been underperforming amongst potential voters and, quite frankly, she's cringe.
