Wait. The car companies were getting credits to put this functionality on cars? It wasn't a law saying that they had to do it, but it was money the car companies were getting is the reason it was forced on us?

Here, use my colon.

heh.

It sounds like transferring an owned print book to digital and using it to train AI was deemed permissable. But downloading a book from the Internet and using it was training data is not allowed, even if you later purchase the pirated book. So, no one will be knocking down your door for scanning your books.

This does raise an interesting case where libraries could end up training and distributing public domain AI models.

I'll tip at a restaurant where I'm seated, someone takes my order, brings me my food, and clears my table. If I have to order at a counter or do any of the above it's not a place I'll typically tip.

At McAlister's the other day I went in and say down, pulled up their app on my phone to place my order, and that's when I noticed they had removed the table numbers, so you can't use the app to place an order. I went to the counter and the lady taking my order was in training, however they weren't really training her. She had to stop someone and ask how to do every little thing. The register next to me had 4 people go through it in the time it took her to take my simple order. The whole time I'm thinking how much easier this would have been using the app. Finally, the order is in and I pay with my card, and it asks for a tip. The options are 15% 20% 25% [Other]. I had to actually put 0 in for the tip amount. I won't be going back.

I think you are right, but one thing you left out is trump's desire to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, and he saw this as his chance.

But then we would have never gotten Robert California, and that would have been a real shame.

Thank you, I've made my donation!

Dude, setup a GoFundMe! (But, you know, use an open source alternative)

I'd give $10 a month to Ukraine... it would be one of the cheapest subscriptions I have.

No one knew that fixing the issues in the Middle East could be so difficult.

The message is that billionaires can pay 'more' taxes, not that they have to pay on unrealized gains.

That's absolutely correct, the Senate cannot do that.

The Postmaster General can though... and the Postmaster General is appointed by the Postal Service Governance Board, which is appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate.

From the article: The Open Data Institute that I co- founded in London has taken on the challenge of international co- ordination for a new standard that gives users control over their own data. It is called Solid (for social linked data) and the technical details are controlled by W3C, the web standards consortium. Solid seeks to decentralise the web. The platform can be used to build new applications that request access to user data. This data is stored in such a way that users have complete control over it.

I was curious how well it would work for switching between projects at work. I manage IT for several different offices and sometimes it is difficult to switch between my many various projects.

I don't want a new roof. I don't want a loan. I'd rather be doing something fun.

I went in and bumped up the graphics to 'High' and it is beautiful and plays great.

If you want it free from GOG you'll need to be sure you have it setup in Heroic Launcher.

I've heard that the reason Puerto Ricans can't vote is because Puerto Rico isn't a state and it is states that choose the president, not voters. But what about expats living abroad? Do they just get to pick which state gets their vote? If so, couldn't Puerto Ricans do that too?And what about people in DC? Where do their electoral college votes come from?

I'm sure I'm missing something here, I'm just not sure what.
