I want to hear an awesome song for the first time and have my mind blown, give me your best songs that I might not have heard before, please and thank you.

Edit: I didn’t have any responses yet when I went to sleep and I’m just checking now after waking up to a lot of responses, thank you everyone! I will be listening to these throughout the day!

Problem: We don't know what your baseline is.

Lateralus by Tool blew my mind back when I first heard it, but now it's sorta pedestrian. Same with In The Aeroplane Over The Sea. Great songs, to be sure, but I don't know what you know.

Yeah I didn’t really get into what I’ve heard because it’s kind of cliche but I listen to a little of everything, though I honestly haven’t heard most of the stuff being suggested in this thread so it’s all good! Thanks!

Cloudkicker - "The Discovery"

It's actually a whole album but every song is amazing. (instrumental prog rock, if that's your jam)

Edit: Fun fact, this dude is a solo artist, primarily guitar but he does all the production, mixing, sampling / synths etc. He also apparently refuses to do live shows, he's just a living room hobby artist, and is a full time airline pilot by trade.

This is a tough one, I'll go with L'appel du vide (Thomas Bergersen), but he has so many good ones that its very hard to figure which one is the best.

If you like progressive metal, might I suggest Sunset Sunrise by Vildhjarta. Honestly any song by them. Can't go wrong.

Nonagon Infinity - King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard

It's a looping album of songs that all transition into eachother, I totally didn't loop it for three hours last night.

SubRosa - The Usher

Not sure what genre of metal to call this. Female vocalist, uses minimalism to make the parts that hit, hit.

Laço Tayfa is/was (I have no idea tbh) a Turkish band whose music blends jazz fusion with Turkish folk music, it's absolutely fantastic. I linked their song Atmaca, which leans more on the Turkish folk side than the other stuff on that album.

Inkpot Gods by The Amazing Devil

Love all their songs honestly, tho I guess you'd also have to like that more folk-y music. But sharing won't hurt!
