Big "I wrote this on my own cup for clout" energy.

[–] anarchrist 85 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I think you're on to something. Professional baristi know to sharpie before filling. This cup was already sweating when it was written on.

[–] [email protected] 44 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Also starbucks rarely uses sharpies these days

[–] [email protected] 25 points 2 years ago

Yeah I haven't seen anything written on a coffee cup in years. They have little labels with names that come off of the printer, or the place is slow enough that it isn't needed.

They aren't supposed to say names either because corporate thought viral name misspellings were bad for the brand, they just say what the order is.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 years ago (1 children)

How do they sell these before mid-October? Clearly it's a sign that God is dead.

[–] [email protected] 32 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

That's what you get for ordering a pumpkin spice beverage in August, we aren't even out of fruity beverage season yet. IMO it's unacceptable until daytime temperatures are averaging below 70°F.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Second week of September IMO

[–] [email protected] 15 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I propose 9/11 as the new start of pumpkin spice season. Won't forget the start date.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 years ago

What could soothe the eagle's tears more than a pumpkin spice latte

Goo isn't really a thing, right? Like it's just a word or a concept people made up to control eachother. Man i think I'm on to something.

Goo's not real. I must convey this to the world. You, sir, in the funny outfit. Gaze upon this message of truth i have written on your breakfast milkshake!

Oh shit we're seeing the synthesis of a new type of guy! Angry cell phone video taken in his truck guy combined with diehard evangelical "christian" guy, maybe throw in a little cop pissing himself because someone spat in his borger at mcdonalds (they didn't).

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I don't thing this is an evangelical. I've never met evangelical pastors who wear that type of collar, more likely to be a Catholic or Episcopal or something.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)

You're probably right, but "reactionary catholic preacher" isn't really a type of guy online yet. Hence he is the synthesis of the above guys.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 years ago

That's true. Catholics have a little bit of market share on the guy market, we have tradcaths and guys who make Dragon Ball Z Bible edits. We can definitely get a new guy on the market this quarter.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Imagine the person whose biggest concern when trying to make ends meet working at Starbucks is that a guy is visibly some kind of church employee. Not the hours, not the union busting, not your dickhead manager, not your pay, not your rent, not the climate, not your alienation from the people around you, it's that he has a little white patch on his neck. So you decide to find your catharsis by going "Actually, god's not real very-intelligent "
