No mention of Komi Can't Communicate so far?

Also Aharen-san wa Hakarenai.

Mass demonstrations also broke out in Mallorca, Venice, Italy, and Portugal’s capital of Lisbon, per the AP, with locals leading chants like “Everywhere you look, all you see are tourists.” The objection the residents have to the visitors is primarily their role in causing an affordability crisis, leading to things like housing costs skyrocketing as homes are sought after to be listed on Airbnb and other short-term rental markets

A Serbian Film

Just reading the plot summary was distrubing for that one. It shall remain forever unwatched.

I used to crack my neighbour's WEP secured Wifi back in the day.

But I also think the comment chain is speaking to the limits of our knowledge. The “limits that physics imposes on technology” is only based on what human beings have figured out through our limits of testing the rules of existence

Absolutly, I'm not disputing that.

My point was going in the opposite direct. Some of the stuff we know we can be pretty sure about so I'd say it's safe to assume that even an advanced alien technology couldn't get around them. Like the speed of light, conservation of energy, entropy, etc.

It’s easy to say there isn’t evidence of something, just as easy as it is to say that it’s because it’s past our limit/ability to test those things right now.

Right, but when considering practical applications, like technology, it doesn't really make a difference. If something exists but I don't know (and currently can't know) that it exists, it might as well not exist. The result is the same.

People aren’t annoyed with regular tourists

Yes they are. That's literally what the article is about.

Of course they do .. you can basically find that information on the internet.

But this comment chain is about the limits that physics imposes on technology.

There is no evidence for the existence of souls or spirits, so they don't really factor into that discussion.

People employed due to tourist revenue are angry about tourists. That’s some real funny stuff .

Seriously ... how long do they think they can sustain a museum with just local visitors? Like are they expecting regulars? Do some Parisians just want to look at the Mona Lisa once a week?

yet no one has a clue what happens with 100% certainly after death

Of course we do. Unless steps are taken, it's usually rotting and decomposing. There is literally farms where we study what happens to us after death. The physics of death are no mystery.

I must have gone through all the options twice, but can't find it. Not a super big deal, but since you already have the library button below, it's a bit redundant and unnecessarily taking up space.

A friend from England was on a nature hike an sent a couple of pictures.

IDs:

spoilerA sac spider, Clubiona sp.

One of the false widows, Steatoda grossa

A giant house spider, Eratigena of the atrica group

A noble false widow, Steatoda nobilis (though this is an odd one, but don't see what else it could be).

I've been appointed as a mod 3 times now.

The action shows up in the modlog straight away, but it always takes a couple of hours until it actually works. Then, serveral hours later it seems to just reverse itself.

I suspect it has to do with ongoing federation issues on the side of lemmus.org (the instance of the head mod account). All post from lemmy.world are delayed by about 12 hours on that instance.

Maybe the delayed federation somehow messes with the mod appointments?

I really have no idea why I was banned from those two communities specifically. I don't think I've interacted with any of them (apart from reading/voting) for weeks. It's not an instance ban.

If there is a better place to post this, please tell me.

EDIT:

I posted a link that was falsely flagged as malicious, have been unbanned! See comments for more details!
