Reform UK has announced it would give non-doms the chance to avoid some UK taxes by paying a £250,000 fee[...]

"Many talented people are leaving and we want as many entrepreneurs, as many risk-takers, as many job creators, as many people paying lots of tax, as many people investing huge sums of money."

Because letting someone not pay taxes is gonna help with getting tax payers?

[..] (1) climate change is happening (‘It’s real’); (2) human activity is causing climate change (‘It’s us’); (3) there is a scientific consensus about human-caused climate change (‘Experts agree’); (4) climate change harms people (‘It’s bad’); (5) a majority of people are concerned about climate change and support climate action (‘Others care’); and (6) actions can be taken to limit the harm (‘There’s hope’).[..]

I find that the last ones, (5) a majority of people are concerned about climate change and support climate action (‘Others care’); and (6) actions can be taken to limit the harm (‘There’s hope’)., are the ones I'm failing some days.
There's just too much news that appear to tell the opposite of (5) and that leads to not believing in (6).

You've chosen an immutable distro based on rpm-ostree. If you want to install a program/application/app then flatpak is the way.
Heroic Launcher works great for installing GOG/Epic games but if you want to install a game or other program from an offline installer then I still fall back to Lutris.

For more in-depth read up on rpm-ostree and flatpak

When I visited danish relatives they often made flæskesteg (a kind of roast pork, originally a christmas dish) and you can also get flæskesteg burgers and so on. That's what I think of when someone says danish pork.

The Ultra 7 and the RTX 5060 shouldn't have any trouble with those workloads. Solidworks still have the Nvidia RTX 1000 Ada Generation with 6GB GDDR6 and the Nvidia T500 with 4GB GDDR5 as supported cards.

Would an alternative be to simply edit the pdfs?

The german software FlexiPDF still allows you to buy a yearly version for a one off sum and allow you to use a free trial with watermark to check whether it works well enough for you before you buy.

I'm happy that facebook is dying out more and more in Sweden. If it weren't for local groups coordinating in "Facebook groups" I believe it would be crashing even faster.

How many people use Facebook?
Here is a list of how many internet users of different ages use Facebook daily (In Sweden, 2024):

  • 49% of all internet users aged 8 or older
  • 1% of people born in the 2010s
  • 23% of people born in the 2000s
  • 53% of people born in the 1990s
  • 58% of people born in the 1980s
  • 69% of people born in the 1970s
  • 64% of people born in the 1960s
  • 60% of people born in the 1950s
  • 42% of people born in the 1920s, 1930s, or 1940s

Essentially, it transforms dry heat into wet heat, which is much worse.

I think this is key, you need to cool the room enough for it to not qualify as heat anymore.

They would see and hopefully obey the stop signs though. :)

Leaving for a rival was once taboo, but now, “openly applying to SK Hynix has become our culture,” Cho, a process engineer, told Rest of World.
Even his manager has encouraged his team to jump ship, Cho said. “‘Why aren’t you applying to SK Hynix?’” he recalled the manager saying. “‘Get out of here fast!’”
“All the talented engineers are leaving,” he said. “That’s how we’re falling behind.”

Engineers are asked to log overtime as “nonworking” hours so that Samsung doesn’t violate the government’s 52-hour workweek limit, Han and five others said. “I work many hours for free,” Han said.

I spent way too long trying to find I'm a Morning Person made by Julian Smith and found out it has since been unlisted on youtube.
Only reason I finally found it was a direct link to it on another forum which appeared on search page 5 on duckduckgo.

It got me thinking; Is there any service that lists unlisted youtube videos?
Would it be possible to create?
