For some seniors whose house is paid off, and are living on a small fixed income the increase in property taxes can price them out of their retirement home.

huh idk what I expected by that description but it was defs something more exotic than 2005-style big round buds

Lol, I have really simple tastes in general, and I don’t really like the fit of IEMs. My daily drivers at home are a pair of large planar magnetic open backed headphones, so I also like how ‘open’ the faaeal buds sound.

“Flat Head”, thank you! That seems to be the style. The hard round speaker casing with the foam covers just fits really nice for my ears. The problem is every pair of those style you find out in stores are really cheap crap anymore, way back the cheapo pairs felt just like the faaeal ones do to me now.

Chi-Fi

I really really like these cheap buds I got from Faaeal, they sit in your ear but not inserted in your ear canal, so you still have situational awareness and can hear what’s going on around you.

Most of the chifi buds I’ve seen are like Moondrops where they go in your ear canal, do you know of any that are like my Faaeal Iris buds?

I have a pair where the battery is shot and can’t be replaced, not sure why I didn’t see that coming or why I maybe did and didn’t care at the time.

My next phone is going to have a headphone jack again for podcast listening, I do most music listening on an old ipod anyways.

They’re integral to the operation of private enterprise. It may be a sub conscious understanding, but they are very well aware that the “value” produced in the private sector is entirely enabled by the military, so they inherently give it a pass. Plus all the propaganda that makes people feel good and not terrified when an F-16 screams overhead in your city.

A fractured world with different places and ways of being

I want to be able to be born into a small society, grow up with travelers talking about how down the coast there are people that don’t live exactly like we do, and they have different values and habits and customs and how that’s cool. I want the option to leave my current group and go join that one, and live the way they live and integrate to their society.

Just reading a David Graeber co-authored book where he talks about the Pacific coast of North America pre-european contact. There were vastly different economies and social structures all along the coast, the economy of the southern portion of the coast was very different from the economy of the northern portion.

You had these absolutely huge gulfs in how a society and economy was put together, often in remarkably small geographic areas, and the social freedom to travel between them and be treated well. We don’t even truly understand how much we’ve lost. Like, we all just settled on capitalism (violently and not voluntarily) and gave up the sheer variability of expression and experimentation. The End of History.

There was an ATC i watched on youtube who does videos on near misses and iirc this lane has lots, I’ll try and find that to share and rewatch myself. I remember him talking about that particular military flight path and the issues there.

You’re talking about probably a million and a half people

Gaza population pre Oct. 7 was around 2.2 million. Guess this is some small confirmation that the death toll is around 700,000 people according to state dep intelligence.

Please think for yourself, and don’t let a chinese propaganda app do it for you

I just want to rub their nose in this until they understand the irony here
