Love the Expedition, such a timeless design, that indiglo is gorgeous. I used to have an expedition scout and the ticking sound it makes is why I became interested in an automatic watch!

But decades from now when you move on in life, the watch you wear over the next four years will be a talisman of your service to this country and treasured by your grandchildren. Unless it's an Apple Watch, in that case, it will be in a landfill.

data-laughing what a goober

Personally, I wear a cheap Berny Titanium Automatic I bought direct from the factory in China. It was like 70 bucks, the fit and finish is as good as any Seiko I’ve owned, and the dial and luminosity is 10x better than any watch I’ve owned save exactly one Seiko that had special die or something. Plus, unlike any other watch brand I’ve seen, I could order the dial face plain with no brand logo. Shit is clean. Also uses a japanese Miyota movement, it keeps time very well.

To be clear, we are not anti-technology or troglodytes. We are big fans of Apple and believe the iPhone and iPad are two of the most consequential products of the last century

Idealogues 🤮

I bet there is a US base in whatever western shit hole you live in where they will shoot you dead with minimum hesitation if you so much as breathe in its direction

Reminds me of the Boy Boy video where they try and get on that remote base in northern Australia

“Where’s the beef!?”

-is the only burger add that really sticks in my brain, I think that was Wendy’s

I feel like I just read an article where the amount of plastic found was equivalent to a credit card, exciting advancements are being made.

Forget bending a spoon with your mind, I'm bending a spoon in my mind.

I’ve seen videos on XHS of people kitting the inside out all comfy af and eating lunch / chilling in what I presume are vehicles similar to this. They look sick and have inspired me to deck out my car like that for my work naps.

On a digital purge for a bit, so only solo tabletop games and rpg journaling!

Picked up a new oracle (mythic gme) and two different core systems I’ll mix (2d6 dungeon and perilous wilds), it’ll be my first time playing a system that isn’t as ‘on the rails’ so to speak as Ironsworn.

But in the meantime I’m finishing up a dungeon dive in Iron Helm, then I’ll take those notes and turn that into a short story hopefully early this week and then next weekend I can dive into Perilous Wilds and 2d6 Dungeon

I’m sure someone will come by and poop all over me, but I use Kagi. AI bullshit is Silo’d away and it feels like how search engines used to. I’m not particularly tied to it though, sometimes Yandex works better depending on the search. Also, it’s a paid service which turns most people off.

This reminds me of a running joke a friend and I have.

“You like ___? Name 10”

Example, seeing a cute corgi

“Man, I love corgi’s.” cat-trans

“Oh yeah? Name 10” smuglord

We love trashing this particular cliché. It’s probably my most hated thought terminator, it’s just a way of smugly turning the debate around when you realize how outclassed you are in the material. I highly doubt he would be able to do a fraction of what he asks of you.
