is Iran able to respond to these airstrikes or are their air defenses so suppressed when Israel attacks that they can't do anything at all?

no doubt this would have global repercussions though also wondering how much this would impact the US, being that they are currently the top producer of crude oils. prices will go up for sure and i haven't looked into what the US does with its oil production in terms of exports etc but it also makes me feel like they are a bit more shielded from the rest of the world should the oil market go bottoms up.

is the refueling over Syria a new development? because Israel took out Syria's military capabilities after Assad fell or because the new government gives a green light?

I thought the character of the mother was pretty good, her addiction to television and the use pharmaceuticals to cope with her life. Also fwiw, just saw some headlines about Jared Leto sexual misconduct allegations.

I've seen & heard this a few times, that Zionists will justify their claim of ownership to Palestinian lands by pointing at the Bible for evidence that they were the original inhabitants of that land. They don't consider it the West Bank, they call it Judea and Samaria (as seen on The Setters documentary). I haven't read the bible and tbh don't know that history very well of which people lived where but I'm sure the history is not as simple as this. Anyone have any good reads or insights into this history?

I've come across someone's situation, as described below in broad strokes, who has an upcoming USCIS appointment. They have been in the US since the late 90s where upon their asylum paperwork/processing they mentioned that they were a teacher and worked with the Jamiat-e-Islami organization, which is a well known ally of the United States, and I gather their counsel suggested they include this detail to strengthen their case as everyone understood this organization to be an ally of the US in their fight against the Soviet Union (and also the Taliban later on). Fast forward a few years post 9/11, and this organization is now considered an 'undesignated terrorist organization' via the Patriot Act and that association with such an organization can lead to the termination of their asylum status and certainly prevent them from becoming a permanent resident.

"A group meets the definition of "undesignated terrorist organization" if it is a group of "two or more individuals, whether organized or not, which engages in terrorist activity or has a subgroup that engages in terrorist activity." Engaging in terrorist activity includes committing or inciting to commit, with the intention of causing death or serious bodily injury, a terrorist activity; preparing or planning a terrorist activity, and soliciting individuals to become members of an undesignated terrorist organization. Terrorist activity can include, but is not limited to, "the seizing or detaining and threatening to kill, injure, or continue to detain, another individual in order to compel a third person (including a governmental organization) to do or abstain from doing any act as an explicit or implicit condition for the release of the individual seized or detained"; the use of any explosive, firearm or other weapon or dangerous device with intent to endanger the safety of one or more individuals."

The US government claims that Jamiat had engaged in extensive violent combat with, notably, the Soviet Union, the PDPA, other Mujahideen, and the Taliban.

Now, I know we all know the score around here and that this is all projection and wildly hypocritical. How is this not an admission of guilt that the US government has supported an 'undesignated terrorist organization' with way, way more than just some math lessons or whatever. There's a fear here that this individual will be apprehended by ICE at their supposed permanent residency interview and I'm wondering if anyone here knows where one can find information that proves that the US has supported Jamiat (archives, budgets, laws, etc), beyond movies like Rambo and Tom Hanks garbage, like official documents and the like?

On repeat today, think I like it more than the original!

Been checking out Amon Tobin this past week and this track amazing! Hope you enjoy it :)
