Why do they call the guy "sir" instead of "dipshit?"

I'm not exactly sure - far from it - but I have this theory that we might be witnessing the death throes of religion (via its secularization) even though it doesn't quite look like it from the outside. All that repressed sexuality really fucks people up and when they get unmoored from it they go into a sort of psychic apoplexy, which is what we are witnessing. I'm grasping at straws here because goddamn is it weird rn.

The place I'm referring to is called Pita Jungle. Their baba is a bit healthier I think than the Serious Eats one, can't find a super great picture of it, but this is it. My copycat is below, instructions are for a gas range but would be similar on a grill.

2 medium eggplants roasted
5 tbs tahini
3 tbs plain yogurt (not Greek)
5 roasted garlic cloves
Juice of 1 lemon
1/4 tsp cumin
1.5 tsp kosher salt, or more to taste
1 tbs Extra virgin olive oil

To roast the garlic, cut of the top of a head and wrap in foil. Pour a Tbs of olive oil over the top, twist foil closed and roast in the oven, 45 minutes at 400F (no preheat). Poke eggplants in several places with a fork to vent. Roast eggplants by covering in foil and roasting over a gas flame set to Medium. Use the biggest burner, set at the halfway point - it has to burn the eggplant somewhat to get the smoke flavor. Roast the eggplant 7 minutes per quarter-turn until eggplants are soft (28 minutes total, 1 full rotation over the flames). Remove eggplants from foil/fire and allow to cool. Peel eggplant and put half in the blender, set aside the other half.

Along with half of the eggplant, add the rest of the ingredients to the blender and blend until thoroughly creamy. Add the second half of the eggplant and blend, but only slightly, leaving some texture.

Chill, serve with charred pita (char over a big burner on low for 1 minute per side), garnish with a drizzle of olive oil, sliced cucumber, tomato wedges and kalamata olives.

We have a place here that has Baba that is unbelievable. I worked for years to perfect it and managed to make a perfect copycat. When it's right, it's just one of the best things.

Yes, when you make it back into the tunnels, the game considers it a finished loop and advances to the next day segment, which is sort of like a save point but you can't save your progress during a loop and come back to it. When you make it back to your "save point" at the tunnel and the day advances, if you hit escape and exit the game, the game is all "Are you sure you want to do this? All unsaved progress will be lost" - as if there were some further action you could take, but there isn't. It's like they had a save function in at one point but decided against it, then never fixed the exit verbiage.

I had the same complaint about Deathloop. If I'm playing the single-player only version, then why do I have to restart the loop if I suddenly have to quit? And why does the game warn me that I will lose all unsaved progress? You literally can't save!

Particularly if you're a good person and you tend to internalize what others say about you. Lots of Internet Famous people are sociopaths who thrive on people trying to tear them down.

Trump comes out with a Tweet calling out "Horse Face Marjorie" and she falls right back into line licking his boots in 3... 2... 1

This reality practically writes itself

Saw a thread discussing the varieties of frozen pizza and it made me glad I make my own.

The pizza pictured is 16", costs about $2.75 to make and serves 2 people comfortably. Oh, and taste? There's really no comparison.

The only real barrier to anybody making pizza like this is just the willingness to practice. It does take a while to get it down, but once you do it's like second nature - and so worth it!

You can see content, but comment sections all say "there doesnt seem to be anything here."

This behavior is not the same on old.lemmy.dbzer0.com.

I apologize in advance.

I mean really.

Alexander, although being a Klingon by birth, was weak, having been raised by his only half Klingon mother among humans rather than Klingons. Whereas Jake, although human, was raised with a mind to take care of himself because of his absent father.

I believe Jake could take him. Hell, I believe Nog could take him.

I've noticed recently that a couple comments I made don't show up in my user page. If someone responds to my comment I can get to it through the notifications page, otherwise, I have no way to find/see it.

The message I can see through responses I can see was posted on to lemmygrad.ml, but I only ever use my lemmy.world account, so I assume the reason it doesn't show up on my user page has something to do with federation, but I just made a post that shows it was posted on lemmy.ml but it shows up on my user page. Is there any way to know when a post you're making might not show up on your user page?
