I still can't believe this is all happening, this just isn't what america is about... we're a nation of immigrants, even the pilgrims were undocumented, fleeing opression, seeking a better life... and the natives took them in. The deportations are so awful, just so, so awful, and he's using the military OUR military to do it... he's forcing our brave men and women in uniform to do these awful awful things. He and the people who voted for him just have the wrong idea of what our founding fathers intended...

The order is really crazy because they never actually do the surgeries on kids and its all just based on misinformation, awful policymaking really. I get that transgender people concerned but like... lets be honest this just covers puberty blockers or whatever. They don't gotta worry about it because theyre basically all adults and they'll still be able to get HRT and shit. Yeah no its just the kids so thats like whatever you know? They can still go be trans when theyre adults right? Honestly? privately? Its kinda creepy how much theyre getting so upset about this. They litterally cant even have kids so like... yeah its kinda wierd how concerned they are about kids getting to be trans or whatever. I dunno, just makes me think, you know?

They talk about preventing the mutilation of children while giving them unimaginable scars. People of my age were at least able to see things get better for queer people, the young ones today have only known this backsliding.

Holy shit, I haven't bought eggs in about 6 months and had no idea it got this bad. The removal of the diversity window dressing feels menacing like that. Another poster suggested it could be a means of preventing a future shitshow and that tracks too. But even if there isn't malicious intent the sudden tidal shift away from even pretending to care is a little bit spooky.
