I've noticed that a lot of times, but not always, when a user is permabanned most of their comments are removed even from the modlog. I thought that was just for instance-wide bans, but it looks like it may apply to comm-bans too. I'm also curious about the specifics of how that works if anyone who knows wants to chime in.

Edit: makes obvious sense for bans due to spam to wipe all comments, but it definitely happens even when that's not the reason for the ban.

Thanks for attributing it. I was wondering if I had heard/read those lines before.

If anyone is interested, it's part of a longer poem Communism is the Middle Term. Here it is in full:

To call for the overthrow of the existing order
May seem a terrible thing
But what exists is no order.
To seek refuge in violence
May seem evil.
But what is constantly at work is violence
And there is nothing special about it.
Communism is not the extreme outlier
That only in a small part can be realized,
and until it is not completely realized,
The situation is unbearable
Even for someone who is insensitive.
Communism is really the most minimal demand
What is nearest, reasonable, the middle term.
Whoever is opposed to it is not someone who thinks otherwise
It is someone who does not think or who thinks only about himself
It is an enemy of the human species who,
Terrible
Evil
Insensitive
And, in particular,
Wanting the most extreme, realised even in the tiniest part,
Plunges all humankind into destruction.

Yeah, it's down again for me too damnit. But it was working like normal for a good few solid hours yesterday, and I think that's a promising sign.

I know, I use it for all kinds of websites. For tiktok specifically, the frontends it redirects tiktok urls to are proxitok and offtiktok, and I mentioned the issues with those.

Holy shit, really? That'd be one crazy coincidence.

Do you happen to know if any privacy frontends work for tiktok like invidious does for youtube? I use LibRedirect for everything I can, but it only displays proxitok, which hasn't worked for well over a year, and offtiktok, which doesn't seem to have any public instances listed. So I'm guessing there just is no frontend landscape for tiktok like there is for youtube, reddit, etc.?

Sorry to ask you out of the blue, but it sounds like you might be well versed in this kind of thing.

For some reason it gets left out

follows the communist organizers trying to lead it.

Might be connected.
