I'm super anxious because I have to see a psychologist next week to prove yet again that I am eligible to receive a tiny amount of disability benefits. It sucks that I have to go through this every 2 years, despite having had bipolar my whole adult life that has only gotten worse.

It's like a doctor's appointment where if I don't get the right diagnosis(from a person who is paid by the agency that wants to cut off my benefits), my life is ruined and I go back to living in a tent. If I succeed I get to continue barely continue scraping by for another couple years.

There are a lot of American Catholics who think Pope Francis is a false Pope because he pays hollow lip service to poor people.

They are above hypocrisy. They'll simply redefine their religion, whether through splinter groups or on a personal level to make it consistent with their greed.

Dime Store Adventures makes videos about discovering and researching minor historical events.

One of my favorites is when he heard a local legend about the reason one gravestone in a small cemetery is much larger than all the rest. The legend was that the man hated his family so much that he decided to exhaust his estate with the most expensive gravestone possible. He shows how he figures out whether it was true by reading old newspapers and visiting historical societies.

NYT also wanted to exclude Google from scrapping their site to build their AI but cannot without completely removing their links from Google search because Google will not provide that option.

Instead they signed a contract with Google to allow them to use their content in Bard. Then they filed this lawsuit against OpenAI.

Did you not see how that turned from a really inconsequential disagreement to something emotional and personal almost immediately?

Sure, no single post was particularly toxic on its own. It's the holy war tenor of discussions on Phoronix that all but guarantees that every discussion ends up as a flame war.

That's hilarious.

"Mozilla is allowing you the option to build Firefox without X11 dependencies"

"Mozilla hates freedom!!!"

I mostly get them from rutracker, but I've also downloaded them from 4download.net . 4download has a ton of plugins available, but like most direct download sites it has scammy ads and some broken links

I'm picturing a boomer laughing to himself when he has the idea for this. He can't hold in his glee as he types it into Wordpad, adding an extra couple exclamation points because that's funnier. Then he has to call his kids for help because he can't figure out the printer again, but they don't answer because they're adults and they don't have to listen to his shit anymore. So he goes to Best Buy geek squad, but the person behind the counter has blue hair. "What is my country coming to?", he says and leaves, stopping at the local Cracker Barrel for a meal. He spots a new entry on the menu, vegan sausage. Dejected, he goes home and sends a Facebook death threat to Kamala Harris, grips his rifle and waits for his sweet death.

American flag apparel/stickers.

Sometimes old people who are progressive(ish?) will have American flags on their house, but only serious chuds buy American flag shirts.

Revanced has a patch option for downloading videos called External Downloads.

I haven't used it, so I can't guarantee it'll work.
