Finished Rogue Trader recently, shit goes so incredibly hard. Going back for my first real BG3 playthrough since release and while it’s still great, it REALLY highlights the strengths of Rogue Trader

I’m sorry to keep NL-posting but there’s a reason he’s like the only youtuber/streamer with emotes on here. He’s simply the GOAT of being a nice well-rounded person who is also actually funny.

Do you have a source on the quadrillions part? I thought deep sea lil freaky dudes like that were all rare n stuff?

Big disclaimer that I knew basically nothing about 40k prior to playing this beyond the surface level stuff you just sorta absorb by cultural osmosis.

However, the setting and writing is super cool so far. One interesting thing is that the obvious hypocrisy and fascism of the empire combined with the general “everything is turned to 11 at all times” of 40k does a really decent job of nipping a lot of potential lib writing in the bud. There’s simply no room for the “moral high road” libs love hand wringing over in most other cRPGs. There’s also some cathartic quality to the fact that the setting isn’t shy about the fact that the player as the Rogue Trader is directly responsible for untold amounts of innocent deaths and brutal oppression. The exploitative system is on full display, making your violently rebelling against it (inasmuch as you can) all the more satisfying.

Still rogue trader, still a great game. Super cool.

Is there a source on this, especially globally?

Owlcat’s 40K Rogue Trader. I’d never really delved into 40K before, but man it’s really good so far. Writing is excellent, combat super fun, and 40K is such a cool setting and world. Highly recommend if you’re a crpg person.
