side question: are there actually any good ones?

question was prompted by seeing a "trumplestiltskin" variant that actually crammed a second pun in there and caused psychic damage. my brain has oublietted the specific phrase but maybe you've seen it too

Calling him 45 backfired at first because Trump fans reclaimed it, then again when he became 47.

Rostov or whatever "Russian agent" name they found didn't stick and was cringe for the few weeks it was around.

Agree on anything pun related, 90% of puns are utter trash.

Sgt. Bonespurs is almost funny as a name but it's immediately ruined by the context of "everyone should have draft dodged in Vietnam."

Agent Krasnov

The worst is definitely "Putin’s cock holster" for obvious reasons.

[–] [email protected] 25 points 1 month ago

oooof that's comprehensively bad

Surprised no one has mentioned 'Drumpf' yet, that one isn't anywhere near as devastating as libs think it is.

[–] [email protected] 28 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Drumpf sucks so bad that I think John Oliver asked people to stop saying it.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I looked it up, and this is true! Via Wikipedia

Oliver later said that the joke "got out of hand" and never used it on the show again.[33] In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, he said, "That joke became old for us very quickly. There's a reason we didn't use it again. It really is the song I skip past. It's 'Creep.' It's a good song, Thom Yorke! It was a good song when he wrote it."[34]

It'll never be worse than He Who Must Not Be Named or whatever the fuck potter dweebs call Voldemort

[–] [email protected] 26 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The one Jon Stewart used to say, Fuckface von Clownstick.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 1 month ago (1 children)

What? That's a perfectly cromulent fuckcrustable of a Trump nickname!

[–] [email protected] 18 points 1 month ago

yeah that's why I don't like it. It's like calling Trump an epic fail baconwaffle or something

[–] [email protected] 25 points 1 month ago

TFG

It means "the former guy" and not "that fucking guy" which is right there. Of course - the poor libs can't use it anymore because he's TCG.

Putting forward for your consideration: Cheeto Benito and Mango Mussolini

I've never seen that so I ask you, kindly, to delete this before it spreads

You must have the self restraint of a monk. Every so often I wander into lib spaces for some psychic damage.

Actually I think I heard that one on Trillbillies podcast.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Years ago I saw "Tweeto" a pun on tweet and cheeto and it hurt me.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Former Slovenian PM Janez Janša.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I highly doubt he was based enough for the Tito comparison.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

He once retweeted Alex Jones yea

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

Twittler was going around for a bit

I think there's a phenomenon where all cultural phenomena are dampened by language barriers. In Spanish I've heard him called Donald Trompa which just means Donald Trunk. It isn't even insulting, it just sounds like Trump. It's only 1% as cringe as the English one.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Donald Trunk is funny to me because I think it's hilarious when names are slightly wrong.

I don't remember what the context of Presinald Trunt was but that makes me laugh still

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago
[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

"presinold trunt" is probably the best example of what OP was asking for when it comes to "good" ones

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 month ago

"donald trompa" is sort of cute unfortunately

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

kind of related but when i was working with a bunch of right wingers who all assumed i was a big lib nicknamed me "two scoops" which later just became "scoops"

ive never been so owned

for reference

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I don't understand this. So they were mocking you because Trump had icecream? And they thought you'd be upset by this? Or they thought you'd be upset that he got "two scoops" instead of one? Do libs get upset by that? Two scoops are way better, you can have two different flavours instead of just one.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

it was a thing in the news cycle for a day or two where a bunch of media libs were upset trump served people at the white house one scoop of ice cream while he himself had two.

yes it was as stupid as you think it was, yes my coworkers thought I was upset by this

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

Thanks for the link, because I assumed it was raisin bran related

[–] [email protected] 16 points 1 month ago

President Tweety is especially cringe because it was thought up by Biden or at least someone on his campaign staff.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Not trump but I heard someone call Elon “elongated muskrat” in person and physically cringed

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

9gag ruined an entire generations ability to come up with their own jokes.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Ugh hate when they call him all these name

Like when they call him donal titty because I actually love titty

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 month ago (1 children)

my mum called him mr t earlier and that one was just confusing

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 month ago

yeah I feel like he'd love that if anything

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 month ago

DRUMPH because it's just a sad, nerdy, "UM ACKSHUALLY" own

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

My mom and her friends call him "orange lips." I didn't understand what the fuck she was talking about when she first used it in front of me.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

that doesn't even make sense? the lips are probably one of his less orange attributes? very weird

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago

IKR? If anything, his lips are pink.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago

tRump sucks

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

I especially hate the lazy ones like "the orange Cheeto"

Cheetos are already orange. The least you could do is be a little clever and get some alliteration in there

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Mr. President
