Weirdly I'm polite to all LLMs, but Gemini sets me off and I end up yelling at it.

Open webui lets you install a ton of different search providers out of the box, but you do need sn API key for most and I haven't vetted them

I'm trying to get Kagi to work with Phi4 and not having success.

She's mastered rolling, why shouldn't she try every boss fight?

I do agree the rules need to be for for the medium

But Spotify is pretty big to cry victim the way they do and have been for years

Also same.

They did keep emailing me daily to come back, so now they're blocked and can't Odyssey me anything.

I dropped all came for Netflix and I would go to a friend's house for Game of Thrones (actually kind of miss those days)

I cancelled about 3 months ago now

[–] wise_pancake@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago (2 children)

That feels like a big contingency that they failed to adequately plan for

Plus wouldn’t the armed forces still fight?

I hate when they do that though, it feels like they do it to make it so you have to pay more months of subscription to watch the same content.

To me the issue is they need to either schedule limited series or multiple seasons up front. The two plus year lead times are just too long.

I hate getting invested in a show like Kai’s just to find out a copies weeks later they mismarketed it and now it’s gone forever.

I get that if they ran it weekly it had more time to generate buzz, but really by the time I watched the first episode they cancelled it a week later. That window is way too quick, especially because buzz is a very bursty thing to happen.

Also when watching The Last Of Us S2 I found I stopped watching when it got frustrating and forgot to come back after, whereas with a binge I’d push through.

That pi zero in a cartridge is so cool!

It really shows how far tech has advanced.

I know you could fit multiple phone chips or probably like an M series laptop chip (in the hypothetical world Apple made them open), but the pi and the peripheral ports hit for me that is a real computer

There was a wind storm two years ago that broke a huge chunk of my tree and left it hanging on. You could probably hang off it and it would not come loose, we tried getting it with ropes but it was wedged in tight between some branches.

Since it was broken pretty high up, surrounded by burdock, and at the back of the lot I just left it.

Today I was helping my wife in the yard clearing the weeds and this time one of the branches pinning it snapped, so I was able to use another branch as a fulcrum and finally took it down.

I’ll cut it up and burn it later — if there’s any good wood I might try carving some.

I got a $32 credit for measuring my house and home office space.

I've been looking for a couple weeks for good public cloud options I can use that are not US based.

I tried OVH but my account was flagged as suspicious upon signing up so I can't use any of their public cloud services.

I just signed up for Hetzner, but I'd prefer Canadian based servers.

So today I discovered that there's a cron job that holds non-reproducible state that died, and now our system is fucked.

The cron job doesn't live inside any source control. This morning it entered a terminal state, and because it overwrites its state there's no way to revert it.

I'm currently waiting for the database rollback and have rewritten it in a reproducible/idempotent way.

Heard this song on CBC radio today and immediately loved it. It’s lights a fire in my heart, so I thought I’d share it with all of you

I haven't seen this show, but I read two articles in The Conversation about it –‘Adolescence’ on Neflix: A painful wake-up call about unregulated internet use for teens

CBC is releasing their Canada travel bucket list with Rick Mercer and Matt Galloway

I've never watched before, but having a good time so far!

Micheal Buble's opening speech was great

I switched my config files to lua. I haven’t changed my config file for almost 10 years, except for minor tweaks.

I made this sketch for my wife, but it got pressed into another charcoal drawing while I was moving stuff around.

Is eraser the best way to fix this?
