1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of “discuss” rarely comply with this rule.

2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.

3. Avoid repetitive topics.

4. This isn't an advice forum

Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.

There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.

Some other communities to consider before posting:

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.

6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.

7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with “So” - starting a post with pointless phrases, like “I hope this is allowed” or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

I've been doing daily sauna for a month or two now. Feels great ...

80C for 20m every day...

Now the coating in my glasses is melting and everything is a blur of bright lights.

Need to get the rest of the coating off, or get new glasses.

My son wanted Mario and my daughter wanted foxes. I thought my solution tying them together was clever, but no one at the party seemed sufficiently impressed.

edit: I should have specified, these are mini sandwiches, not cookies. The colors are from food dye markers.

I realize this may not qualify as dull enough for this community. I think most people might be likely to consider my job and my team in my department to be extremely dull though so maybe this does work. Also, I am extremely dull, because I have virtually no friends and no one to tell about this and I really feel the need to tell someone because I’m absolutely killing it, nothing like this has ever happened to me before, and I’m very proud of myself, and I never thought I would get this far in life.

That's pretty much it. I love it.

I've been making bread at home since covid. Used my Kitchen Aid stand mixer with the dough hook until now, but that always left a huge mess to clean up. Now I prep a week's worth of dry ingredients in ziplock bags and only have to clean up one mess. I use butter powder rather than regular, and that makes things super convenient.

Before I go to bed, I dump in the water and one of the ziplock bags, set the timer, and have fresh bread waiting for me in the morning.

I just moved into this house and was back there to think about what to plant and was quite happy to find this. It's behind a big pine tree and I can't see it from the windows or patio. I was just back there a week or two ago so it was quite a surprise.

I think they came from my neighbor's yard. But the interesting part (to me) is it's the neighbor on the opposite side and there's no peonies in between.

I might get some more and turn that area into a flowerbed with some ground cover.

Reorganized my luggage packing setup. I work and live for up to a week with only carryon and small bag, without doing laundry

Does everyone just go based on favorite color or is there some magic im unaware of that I should consider?

I have a CBFA engine and not a CCTA one so I have to wait for a turbo again.

Also I stripped the mounting bolt. Icon tools are no joke.

Good news is I have oil and coolant in my hair and it’s still $2,000 cheaper than what my mechanic quoted.

Update: Got a new turbo. Put the new turbo in. Still no boost. Checked my work and connected the charge pipe. Still no boost. Also an oil leak.

At the mechanic now to check if the cats are clogged and limiting exhaust flow

It's been at 80F / 26C for 10 hours.

There goes $8. Dang.

I have a shop fan on my porch that I leave on 24/7 when it’s humid out. It has three speeds. The lowest speed is rather noisy.

If I don’t run it, humidity condenses on the front door. Then mosquitoes are attracted to the moist door. And this leads to them sometimes entering the house.

I bought this ($19), so I can dial the lowest speed even lower to the exact point the noise is low enough but the wind is fast enough.

It was just a thought that occurred to me since it’s electric, could it not be run at a different speed if the input electricity was changed?

Yes, it can. Works beautifully.

It's a Creative Zen Stone that I got as a Christmas gift in 2008. I just found it in a drawer, and it's still holding charge. The last thing I put on it was The Life And Times Of Scrooge by Tuomas Holopainen, in 2015 -- I don't know why, at that time I definitely had a smartphone.

It has a headphone jack, which immediately makes it better than every smartphone produced in the last several years, and it can easily drive my 80-ohm Beyerdynamic. The audio quality is as good as one can expect. The only drawback is that it only holds 1GB... my old CD rips had to be compressed to hell and back.

Let me reiterate that this has been sitting untouched for a decade and was immediately ready for action. No login, no annoying software updates, expired subscription, or remote bricking by the manufacturer. Eat my shorts, Spotify Car Thing.

P.s. A Lifetime Of Adventure is a banger. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWwSVOo5K_k

I bought a horse trough, drilled a hole in it and put a sink drain thing to catch the dog hair. Then I put in some tether mounts to be able to tie down our dog's collar's

This thing sounds absolutely amazing. It's the first-gen model, so it's got the wonky LCD issue, but it's still mostly legible.

Not much on the radio except commercials, and my CDs are purely decorative these days, so I added a Bluetooth receiver to its aux input, and it's now the best BT speaker I've ever had.

I am aware that using a sump pump in mud probably drastically decreases its lifespan, the water wants to be slightly above the dranage pipe (in white) naturally.

Just saw the other poster. Reminded me of how sometimes I like to drop myself next to an international border on Google Street view and observe the line where two countries meet. I also like the site https://barrysborderpoints.com/

I also like to watch those videos of people just going out for walks in their town but I like being able to choose where to go in streetview.

With how expensive it is to actually go to other countries this is my best bet for cultural enrichment. I've done cities in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Oceania.

And once in a while I get to see something neat that I wouldn't've seen on youtube or actually going there. Such as the time I went to a random shopping plaza in miami and turned down an alley to find that alley hadn't been recorded since 2008 so I got to see a few pictures of that shopping center under construction.

The hardest part of this is doing my best to ignore the "God I wish I lived there" thoughts.

I'm gonna go explore Bhutan now.
