Youre better off asking why women overall are more likely to read. It follows that more women would be authors. And it gets even worse if you're looking at book club participation where women are much more likely to participate ime as the frequent only man at book clubs.
For your fantasy book authors, you probably were expecting the opposite because society historically pushed male authors to the forefront and you can still see this today where many people will list their top fantasy books and not a single woman author can be found. This is either inadvertent or intentional sexism.

Anything sold in stores basically has to compete with physical eye appeal. This means small things are prone to being packaged bigger so they catch people's eyes. You can see this with a bag of chips- sure the air helps prevent chips from breaking but have you ever wondered why some bags are 50% air? It's just to make the package bigger so it stands out more.
Personally I'm not a fan but the reason i clicked on this post was to see if anyone else hates it or if it's just me lol.
I just don't like that it is ai aggregation taking traffic from other news sources. You're paying them instead of actual journalists. For me on a limited budget in not subscribed to anyone so i can't talk but if i were to subscribe, it wouldn't be to ground news.
