Well at least he did not lie then!

Thank you for being a dedicated FATMAP Explore member. Since we started FATMAP 10 years ago, your outdoor adventures and expeditions have made FATMAP the world’s most powerful 3D map.

FATMAP and Strava joined forces in January 2023 to make outdoor experiences more accessible. Over the next several months, we’ll bring many of FATMAP’s 3D maps and other features to Strava to create the world’s best platform for planning, navigating, and sharing outdoor adventures with the largest global community of active people.

As we move towards this joint mission, we will retire the FATMAP app, website and Explore Portal on October 1, 2024. As a Strava subscriber, you will continue to have access to all the FATMAP features you currently enjoy during this transition.

If you’d like to move your FATMAP routes to Strava or receive a copy of your FATMAP activities, routes, waypoints, photos, and guidebooks, follow the steps here by October 1, 2024. After that date, your data will be deleted permanently.

Once you migrate your FATMAP routes to Strava, they will be available as Saved Routes in your Profile on the mobile app and in your Dashboard on the Strava website. As a Strava subscriber, you’ve already elected to share your content and data with Strava. For more information about your rights regarding your personal data on FATMAP, learn more here.

We’d like to say thanks once again for the part you have played in FATMAP’s community. We look forward to seeing more of your adventures on Strava in the future!

See you out there,

Team FATMAP

Strava is partnering with Fi dog collars to gamify your dog walks, showing whether you're giving your best friend enough exercise.

I got a number of answers that sound very weak to me, and basically point to a "fail" of the fediverse in its own nature if threads joins. Kind of disappointing.

To me, the key idea of the fediverse is that it's federated and should work as a whole, no matter who joins. Most of the answers below support the opposite. They are basically saying that the fediverse should stay within the "fediverse", which is exactly what non-federated social media are doing. Meh.

Aside from the "moral" argument, can someone ELI5 what harm can a federated threads.net do on other users (like me) and/or instances?

New Endurace CF is out! (www.canyon.com)

All with semi-integrated cables/cockpit (similar to the new Grail), CF 6 with Tiagra, CF 7 with mechanical 105 12s, CF 7 AXS with flexi seat post. Frame unchanged from previous CF (top tube rivets still there), fork different due to hose/cable integration.

The "never obsolete" refers to a subscription service, where they would periodically send you updates somehow. LGR has a good video on this.

So can banks in the UK. There is one design for England, but a few for Scotland, for example.

  1. is BS, do you see the flags of England, Scotland and Wales all at the end?

Dark side and far side of the Moon are equivalent terms.

They probably want to monetize on podcasts too, in the same way they do on videos and music. At the moment, Google Podcast is completely free and ad-free.

The bar is pretty low.

I came here to say exactly this. IG and all the others are private companies, with their own terms and conditions one agrees on, and also agrees those terms can be changed by them at any time. Moderation of content is part of it. Deal with it, or don't use them at all.
