At home I'm running proxmox on a Ryzen 9 3900X, 96GB of RAM with 4TB of NVME storage. I have VMs for a bunch of stuff, most importantly Unraid which is passed a SATA controller with 8 drives. Storage from unraid then mounted as NFS/SMB shares to various VMs.

I'd like a feature for user specific defederation of communities as you've mentioned. Not sure it is possible though.

I replaced Boost for Reddit with Jerboa :)

To see an example of why I've opted to not allow everyone to create communities... take a look at what is happening over on lemmy.world

A small number of users have created a crazy number of communities. Page after page of communities with zero posts.

First I've heard of this. If I had to guess, because its a new domain in an uncommon TLD. It also uses websockets for client connections, which is also not very common these days.

I'll ask other instance admins if they've had similar reports.

Cheers for the details, I'll grab the other model and have a play. I'm new to this, just playing around really :)

Thanks, you've just reminded me to claim mine this month!

It will only show up on other instances when a user there searches for it manually.
