I've been happily married over 20 years, I'm a computer programmer and teacher. my wife has no interest in my work and I'm 100% fine with it.

your husband sounds insufferable. sorry for you

depending on the hat i think you can just put it below anyway and bend the flat cable down instead of up. as long as you can still screw it in place and it fits in a case you'll be fine

i don't have anything useful to add except that I'm saving this because i also want to know the same thing as you.

hoping to learn how and start hosting my own matrix server over summer. depending on how things work I'd like to migrate my family chat there, possibly even host space for my kid's friends if that's a thing they have interest in using

remember the time that Leon Skum turned starlink off for Ukraine just before a Russian attack?

he can never again be trusted. especially when it comes to safety and security

sounds like something i can get behind if it ever was brought up in my area

AI that's powered by crappy prompts

different, yes. but by how much and will it be different in ways that truly matter

yeah, might seem good to have yet another choice, but it's an illusion

depending on if you know or trust whatever mod you bring in i recommend you stick around for a bit if only just to make sure things don't get ruined. no need to be active unless ya know, you need to

70 is plenty. you should see new stuff a lot. i don't see too much but i blame it on the fact that i don't follow too many. i guess there's something else here

are you following too few subs? since the user base is smaller than that big corps lemmy simply has less daily content and this is especially noticed if you're only following a few subs

eventually we'll all be able to have an open source AI that runs fine on a phone or any average device and we'll have our privacy, and the big corps will lose their grip and hopefully collapse
