I try to avoid going out at annoying times - e.g., rush hour, school zones, restaurants on a Friday or Saturday night. That helps a lot.

They don't make mustaches like that anymore.

I was always more partial to Tom Selleck.

Local government is great but we're a pretty small township.

National government is fucked and can go fuck itself. Packed full of incompetent morons, sycophants, opportunists, grifters, and brainworms, and riddled with hate - racism, homophobia, misogyny, transphobia, ableism, etc. It's a smorgasbord of vile shitheads who never should've gotten anywhere near this much power.

This is so sweet, I might cry. I have a dad but he's...not the best. I can't ever imagine receiving heartfelt praise or encouragement from him. The men doing this deserve all the hugs and thanks 🤍

Late Gen X / early Millennial is called a Xennial. We're characterized as having been born in a largely analog world and coming of age as consumer technology became more prevalent. I think it informally encompasses 1977-1983.

I was born in '81 and graduated high school in '99. I grew up hearing that I was Gen X, the slacker generation, the whatever generation, the generation where trying was uncool. And that's exactly the experience I had. I was an adult before I ever heard the term 'millennial' and I don't identify with it at all, though technically I'm on the cusp. Xennial does seem to fit though.

Doesn't the baby already come covered in parmesan cheese?

Bottom right is extra cute, just looks a little confuzzled

Since the latest update, I've noticed that images aren't displaying properly in two ways:

  1. The thumbnails no longer display within the post body, I now have to click on them to view them
  2. Images in comments are cut off rather than sizing to fit the screen

The screenshot below demonstrates both issues.

Saw this in another community and it made me laugh!

Hi friends! I'm looking to buy a fragrance and am hoping you guys might have some suggestions.

I want something that screams "peach" without being powdery or overly floral. I'm hoping for something gourmand/lactic (but not overly sweet!), fruity, or lightly floral (wearable in the daytime), or to go in another direction completely, something peach with spice, an evening scent sort of like Angel Share Paradis by Kilian (but peach instead of raspberry).

I'm more interested in perfumes, less interested in body sprays, but will give anything a shot.

Things I've already tried include Phlur's Apricot Privée, Phlur's Peach Skin, and Ellis Brooklyn's Peaches. Out of these, I like Peaches the most, but it's kind of a simple scent. I'd like something a little more complex. I had high hopes for Peach Skin but the sandalwood is really overwhelming (it smells so powdery!). And Apricot Privée is more complex but also smells very powdery and although it's spicy, I feel like it's an old-fashioned kind of spicy, if that makes sense.

And if there's not a single fragrance that fits the bill, I could try layering Peaches with something else. Maybe with Angel Share, or with an amber?

I don't know where else to share this, but I'm so proud of myself so I've gotta post it somewhere. I've finally got my first unassisted pull-up! It wasn't a goal I was working super hard toward, but I've noticed a lot of new muscle definition in my back, probably because I do a lot of rows, especially bird-dog rows and renegade rows. So I tried a pull-up and I was able to do one pretty easily! Not bad for a middle-aged lady! Now I've got a goal to do three. :)

I have a Samsung Galaxy S21 and I just got the new OneUI update. Now when I watch media in Jerboa there's an annoying scrolling notification that appears:

How do I get rid of this?

Also how do I get rid of whatever this is in my edge tray?

Thanks in advance!

Edit: I figured out the first one, search settings for the Now Bar and disable whatever you don't want to see

Hey friends. I've recently realized that what I thought were freckles is actually melasma, and my dermatologist has prescribed me tretinoin for it. I have very pale skin, generally normal in the winter and a little oilier in the T-zone during the summer, but it can dry out really badly with things like AHA. From what I've heard, tret is pretty drying. My dermatologist recommended that I start with applying it only two nights a week, and using a pea-sized amount mixed into my moisturizer. I use the Tatcha Water Cream moisturizer, which is pretty light and has been great for me, but with tret I'm wondering if I'll need a heavier moisturizer. I'm also worried that my usual double-cleansing will worsen the dryness from tret. I double-cleanse with an oil balm to remove my mineral sunblock, then with the Tatcha Rice Wash to get rid of the sunblock & oil balm residue. But I'm thinking the rice wash might be irritating because it's got a (mild) physical exfoliant, so maybe I need to find something else for my second cleanse?

Does anyone have any experiences to share about dryness on tret, or just starting tret in general? Anything I should be aware of? I'm weirdly nervous about it!
