Here's an example example from your post history

You're saying that piracy is competition to record industries

Like sure, they're exploitive and greedy, but how the fuck can anyone compete with the exact same product but the price is zero?

Only a troll would present that as a valid opinion.

Same with selioning on a 3 day old comment, so obviously I'm blocking as soon as I hit submit.

and may listen to reason

Biden has spent literally 50 years in office and has been saying nonstop nothing would ever erode his support of Israel...

Nothing

And his actions back up his words here.

You think it's a coincidence this is happening while he's US president and Netanyhu was about to be ousted from power?

You know the bulk of the killing in concentration camps was when the nazis knew they were going to lose?

Bibi and his extremists were going to lose power, somehow one the planets biggest intelligence agencies let an attack thru on the anniversary of an attack during a music festival blocks away from the border?

I'm not saying Israel orchestrated it, but they definitely turned a blind eye to a perfect recipe for an attack and used it as an excuse to commit a genocide while they still had the power to do so.

And Biden spending 50 years saying he will unilaterally support Israel over everything certaintly played into any discussions about how this would go. Along with trump being the opponent being pretty much the only way Dem voters would vote for a Dem who wants to fund a genocide and crack down on his own voters for protesting.

This shit isn't ok.

How do you propose we communicate that to DNC and Biden while shutting up and voting for Biden?

If libertarians wanted what they said they wanted, they'd be progressive Dems.

They're all hung up on "no taxes" and to dumb to realize the reason regular people's taxes are so high, is the wealthiest no longer pay their fair share.

We could have a lot more social programs and lower taxes, but the wealthiest donate heavily to politicians to prevent that rather than just paying their damn taxes.

Adjectives, not nouns

It got confusing because once Christianity became the mainstream, they wanted described as a noun because they were the majority, it was to draw a clear line between "Christian" and "everybody else".

Like that whole "blood is thicker than water" meant choosing other Christians over blood family.

The whole thing is:

The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb

But anyways, use adjectives to describe people

It's going to be a settlement and most likely it will be like tobacco and opioids settlements...

States are supposed to get it to help the victims, when in reality it's at best used as a random slush fund and excuse to lower taxes on the wealthy.

At worst it'll be used to directly help the industry that caused the damage.

Yeah, but your line of thinking relies on politicians caring more about the country overall than themselves...

They care about defense spending, because they also get "donations" from weapons manufactures.

By no means did I mean they're only taking money from Israel, just that Israel's money comes with a single string:

Support Israel no matter what

Obviously they get money from more people

Like, did you see the name at number 2 between the Dem candidate for 2016 and the Dem candidate for 2020/2024?

It's the guy (also a dem) that had gold bars lining the suits in his closest.

They're taking the money, because they'll take money for almost anything.

That's not a conspiracy, corrupt politicians tend to care about money over everything else

In case you ever wondered why those two positions are our only options:

https://www.opensecrets.org/industries/summary?cycle=All&ind=Q05&recipdetail=S

They've bought out both parties long ago.

They give millions to our most powerful (and corrupt) politicians with no regard for party lines or anything else.

If you back Israel without question, line up and get your money

If you ever dont, they'll throw an insane amount of money to primary and general opponents.

Our system has been broken for a long time by "donations" we might not be able to to fix, but bare minimum we need to acknowledge it needs fixed.

The ideal situation is that the war ends and Israel completely fucks off.

That will never happen with Biden.

I don't know why you don't understand it, maybe you're just too used to his actions never following his words?

But he's been saying nothing will ever lessen his support for Israel for about 50 years now...

This is one of his few promises he's definitely keeping.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

I played the last one after like a decade long absense from the series...

It's definitely became something that they make money off skins instead of games sold. Kids drop $20 on every new skin/bundle that comes out.

Hell, their main focus is on the free mode because they make the most off people playing that and buying skins.

If you buy it for multiplayer, you're paying $70 to get backseat treatment from the devs.

As far as I can tell, the BVF is transferring money to the state parties exactly as promised.

Did you miss the part where they were lying to the DNC officers?

Why would you know?

The Saturday morning after the convention in July, I called Gary Gensler, the chief financial officer of Hillary’s campaign. He wasted no words. He told me the Democratic Party was broke and $2 million in debt.

“What?” I screamed. “I am an officer of the party and they’ve been telling us everything is fine and they were raising money with no problems.”

There was a shit ton of fraud, no one faced any real consequences...

And the same groups of people are running it again...

Why do you think it's better now?

Like, I'm not sure how else to explain this...

For everyone saying Israel doesn't have to listen to the ICC:

Israel, like the US, Russia and China, is not a member. After Palestine’s acceptance as an ICC member, any alleged war crimes – committed by those of any nationality – in occupied Palestinian territories now fell under Bensouda’s jurisdiction.

Treasury secretary came out against the proposed global levy, which proponents say would stop the rich from shifting wealth into countries where they can avoid paying the tax

Full statement:

The ICC prosecutor’s application for arrest warrants against Israeli leaders is outrageous. And let me be clear: whatever this prosecutor might imply, there is no equivalence — none — between Israel and Hamas. We will always stand with Israel against threats to its security.

The Biden administration has told key lawmakers it is sending a new package of more than $1 billion in arms and ammunition to Israel, three congressional aides said Tuesday.

It’s the first arms shipment to Israel to be announced by the administration since it put another arms transfer — consisting of 3,500 bombs — on hold this month. The administration has said it paused that earlier transfer to keep Israel from using the bombs in its growing offensive in the crowded southern Gaza city of Rafah.

"But the Trumpian part is that even though, or perhaps because, it may be part of a Trump scam, Knight now too may be on the hook for $175 million as it won't automatically get out from underneath its own proffered surety."

Hankey, a billionaire, has already said that his company will be able to post the money for Trump.

He was reacting to a comment on X by lawyer Dave Kingman, who wrote that Knight will not be able to post the $175 million.

"Understand that Knight Specialty has a problem. This bond cannot be approved. Under the CPLR [Civil Practice Laws and Rules] the surety will remain obligated under the bond until a replacement bond is filed. Trump is unlikely to get a replacement bond. Knight Spec will be liable AND Trump won't have a stay [on enforcement]," he wrote.

The bond Trump is posting with the court now is essentially a placeholder, meant to guarantee payment if the judgment is upheld. If that happens, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee will have to pay the state the whole sum, which grows with daily interest.

If Trump wins, he won’t have to pay the state anything and will get back the money he has put up now.

Not sure if anyone can help, but there's a user I've tried to block I don't know how many times now, but I still see their comments and they reply to one of mine about once a week. Not just a single reply, they tend to reply to multiple comments each time they do it if I don't respond.

Which is really annoying because unusually don't pay attention to usernames.

Obviously the first thing I tried was unblocking and blocking again, but it never sticks

Not sure if it's related, but whether I have them as blocked or not, their profile always show 0 comments/posts.

Also they're from kbin if that matters.

Is this just a glitch? Any known ways to actually block that account?

The stark question was posed to Trump’s attorney John Sauer by Judge Florence Pan: Was a president immune from prosecution for any unlawful act, at all? Could a president order his political rivals to be assassinated by Seal Team 6 as an official act? Could he sell pardons at his pleasure if he saw fit and then face no consequences for his actions?

“He would have to be impeached and convicted first,” Sauer replied,

The poll found 50% of Democrats approve of how Biden has navigated the conflict while 46% disapprove — and the two groups diverge substantially in their views of U.S. support for Israel. Biden’s support on the issue among Democrats is down slightly from August, as an AP-NORC poll conducted then found that 57% of Democrats approved of his handling of the conflict and 40% disapproved.
