This is one of those times that you acknowledge you're out of gas, and hand off the writing to a team of younger, competent, creatives. Sweeten the pot by offering proportional revenue-share.

It's been done before.

There are basic rules for coming up with these types of product subscriptions:

1. Is it something a large number of customers can't live without?
2. Is it something that costs money to support and continue developing? Subscriptions help defray that cost and loyal users are happy to keep it going.
3. Will the feature be actively used on a regular basis, going forward?

Now apply these to seat warmers, suspension adjustments, self-driving, or whatever else shows up in the future. If you don't hit all three, head back to the drawing board.

P.S.: This isn't limited to cars. It's equally true for any hardware product.

Offer a reality show competition where people dive to the bottom and stick metal poles into the mud. Winner gets to be Switzerland's entry into Eurovision Song Contest.

Reminiscent of countries skipping over landline and jumping ahead to mobile broadband.

The best defense is a good offense.

Not everyone has a github account and can comment or vote there.

But, agree. Don't think any good will come from making votes public. Any pro/con should be measured against who it benefits. If it's mods or devs, there are always alternatives

If it's end-users, consider the edge-cases and the repercussions of malicious actors having access to those individual preferences.
