If you find the answer, let me know. I feel like I've already lost years of my life to the exact thing you've described

Criticism came from ... parts of the left ... given the lack of visible Palestinian representation on the DNC stage—something entirely outside my control.

This is a wild way to defend yourself, because no one is asking you to exert magical control over reality. But you certainly should have control over the positions you support and the people you're defending.

Greatest *publicly recognized atrocity known to man.

The crimes of colonialism are just as brutal and have endured over a far greater period of time. The only difference is that the perpetrators of these crimes are on the "winning" side of their conflicts and plans of domination and therefore still have influence over the narrative with regards to how that history is remembered.

The only difference between people like Hitler and Andrew Jackson is that Andrew Jackson is still memorialized and printed on US currency.

It's always hilarious when I put on some kind of "10 hour music mix" to have something playing in the background while I do household chores or something, and then the next time I want to find something to watch I now have nothing but a cumulative 6000 hours of various music mixes in my recommendations.

It's the same absurdity of buying an appliance online, and having the website say "Our records show that you are starting a refrigerator collection. Would you like to buy 7 more?"

So much of this article describes my parents perfectly, but I just can't agree with the conclusion that they know that they are choosing to believe comforting lies. That would imply a capability for introspection that I've never seen them demonstrate.
