its one of those games that's Fucking Compelling in terms of being a well thought out high-stakes interesting sci-fi malaise story where you learn bits and pieces as you go on like you're actually learning about the setting as you go. also with plenty of twists and emotional beats but it had a shitty pointless choose-your-own-ending that sort of threw me for a loop and i couldnt quite grasp what the larger ideas it was finally putting its mark on were meant to be. it should have had one ending because a few of them were like absolute fearmongering over the idea of anyone having any political power. but based on the strengths of the compelling-ness of it throughout, it did deserve any and all praise the narrative got.

i dont fully understand what you mean about it being impossible to be a teen kid of the Hong Kong diaspora but basically i think it's probably because the creators are the type of expats that are rich enough to have been involved in the HK protests or know people who were and they just want to 1. write what they know and 2. launder anti-communist sentiment in the guise of anti-authoritarianism or criticising "left fascism". the main creative director is a key figure in a post-modernistic sort of art collective from what i can tell. not an inch of grunge or subversiveness or anything of the like in them https://www.hongkongexile.com/about

Unlearnign Economics' take on LTV is so frustrating because to me it just sounds like he's going "nuh uh labour is just one thing that makes things valuable it's in no way at all the PRIMARY thing" which seems to me like he's using ridiculous abstractions like his idea of "if you went to a concert and paid money you necessarily paid for all the equipment that ran the concert and the labour is just a part of that" which is infuriating because like.......... ??? / ?? ?? /? /? what? ?? what about the labour that it took to create the equipment and set it up? why would any of it exist at all if labour didn't exist?? ? ?? thoroughly sidestepping all the philosophical work Marx did to show what IS the primary thing and going "no sweaty it's just a part of it" and doing some graphs and maths and your own holey philosophy. but i'm not smart enough to put together anything more than a vibes based annoyance so its whatever

just ridiculous contrarian shit to me

i was trying to figure out why i was so annoyed but i realise if i had to do even 4 different printed revisions and also if his last concept was the best I had in me and ALSO if it needed to be such an exotic material to be strong enough i would think i finally have lost the plot. also he doesnt even add a handle to the other end and keeps the shitlord recessed handhold ?? and also can't figure out or envision making it a permanent fixture and makes it semi-permanent when the concept was originally meant to be as easy as a snap fit? and designs the snap fit in like 6 different shitty ways before changing the design in the most half assed way possible? and ,,,, 500,000 views?? this is your hero?????

full disclosure i own a 3d printer too so maybe i am just projecting thonk

had this saved for a year and only now read Blindsight. excellent. one of the many ideas it made me realise is that i should meditate more often and step out of my mind a bit more physically

tankies will never stop fucking complaining; don't they realise that letting vampires feed on babies means that there's less adults for vampires to feed on? not that those tankies care. we always have to be the grown ups in the room

maybe not the right sub but there is No Other Place i can think of

Incredibly cool because I 'lost' the game on every conceivable level with everyone in my cabinet betraying me, leaving the party, running against me, impeaching me, attempting to assassinate me, and forming a coup on me for refusing to play by bourgeois and liberal rules on the reformative level, and gaining alliance with the reds internationally

Knowing how big the shit storm was going to be I escaped into exile at the last second but my actions and broad support for just about every leftist faction in Sordland lead to the left becoming entrenched enough to beat out every shitty long-standing party.

Down with the USP and old Sordland. Bit silly that fairly out and out communists take power without issue and don't invite you back but that's life in exile
