This is a very unpopular opinion in online discourse, where discussion can only ever be "won". I think this is an inherent property of the medium and cannot be changed. But one can dream...

What's saving Europe's IT and US companies' bottom line is the sheer incompetence of the Trump administration. They'd love to weaponize tech against the EU (and anyone else, too) but haven't quite figured out how to go about it without absolutely wrecking everything instantly. And since the topic is way too complex for Trump himself it's being left largely untouched. The writing is on the wall, though, and as far as I am aware alternatives are being explored, albeit very slowly.

What I found was that once everything was set up I just started using my software. The system gently faded into the background and things just work. Every so often I need to figure out something new, but that occurs only every few weeks. At that interval I actually enjoy the learning experience.

People keep trying to attribute planning to what can be much more plausibly explained by idiocy. Trump is not "strategically" dozing the rose garden to distract from the real news, he's just a tasteless brutish moron.

Bankrupting your steel industry in the middle of a war is quite a feat.

Nuclear fusion seems increasingly achievable.

Do investors still fall for this?

All for one more venture funding round before the company folds.

I hate how the article anthropomorphosizes the LLM output. Apparently journalists still don't understand what the technology is.

Independent from views you can have on Elon, but "progress" of the Starship program doesn't exactly instill confidence. I can't help but think of "They're evolving, just backwards".

I did a very simple search for this year's holidays in my German state and whoo boy did it get a lot wrong! Left it's the ai slop, right are the correct answers. Obviously I've since disabled it completely to save the screen real estate.

If Valve really wanted to make a splash, they could release a desktop version of SteamOS in October, right when support for Windows 10 ends. For additional damage, they could bundle in Half-Life 3. Just imagine the coverage this would get.

It's a looong read, but very interesting if you are into input device choices.

Babe, wake up! Kensington has shown a new trackball design concept.

I stumbled across this man laying out the current situation with such clarity, I just had to share it.

I just canceled my Amazon Prime membership, something I was almost afraid of. Phew, it's nice to have that off my back.

I've been shopping less and less at Amazon anyway and barely used prime video, so I'll probably won't even notice the difference.

Some of the cupboard doors in our kitchen started to ever so slightly skew over the years. It's been bugging me for weeks, so today I finally took the time to realign them neatly. Took me about two minutes and now everything looks tidy again.

Results were favorable. The trackball provided a 60.1% increase in throughput over the standard controller for novice participants. More impressively, it was shown to provide a 58.7% increase in throughput for participants already adept with the use of a standard controller.
