Times are tough, but that doesn't excuse becoming a fascist's foot soldier. Join a union, organise, protest, fight for a better life, become politically active. You still have the pretence of democracy in America, use it.
Times are tough, we all could use a helping hand
Troubles weighing on your mind, quickly sinking in this sand
Thinking thoughts about your future, trapped on this hellish land
I heard that death is what happens while you're making other plans
Looking 'round for help, may as well dig the grave yourself
Make your way out of the hole you made, you've got to save yourself
You've got to save your self
Run, run, run, you ain't never gonna win
Looking right, looking left, or at her, or at him
You ain't never gonna be anything that you wanna be
If you play it safe and place your real dreams under lock and key
Yeah, no one's gonna help you 'cause this world is so cold
And it likes to make examples out of all the brave and boldBut you've got to carry forward, can't afford to lose your soul
You don't look around for help, you've got to do it on your own
You've got to save... your... self
Fight, fight, fight, just as hard as you can
Change your luck, change your style, change the cards in your hand
I know life's getting peak, it's a mountain to climb
With the worry in your heart and that doubt on your mind
Yeah, no one's gonna help you 'cause this world is so cold
And it likes to make examples out of all the brave and bold
But you've got to carry forward, can't afford to lose your soul
You don't look around for help, you've got to do it on your own
You've got to save... your... self
Save yourself!
Not just some backbench MP either, he's the SNP leader in Westminster. Essentially making him an unofficial co-leader with John Swinney.
There was no SNP presence that I saw at Saturday's protest, whereas the Greens had several speakers. However, the Greens and SNP do work together regularly, so despite not showing at the grassroots level it's good to see there's still resistance to Trump within the SNP.
