Hello sailor! A great event, fantastic to see the tall ships in person. Well worth a stop in if you're even remotely in the area

Languages connect communities, past and present, especially in a wee country, and protecting Scotland’s indigenous languages will hopefully give us more opportunities and a sense of identity that has been historically denied, especially to Scots speakers.

An opinion piece frae Emma Grae oan the woeful support fer Scots in Scotland. An it rings true tae me. How dae we no awridy hae tri-leid road signs? Bring em oan!

Lol, as the council isn't wrong, but Oasis are also quite correct to call out this shitty attitude and language. I'm thinking of a last minute ticket still, as I being a middle aged larger male who likes a lager, fit that mold. Happy Monday folks

Fixed the clickbait title for us. Great for those getaways, Greece is a fantastic visit. Say aye tae a gyros and soak up that sun, happy Saturday!

This thing is massive. I was down at the harbour last week and it dwarfs anything in Scotland. We've no piers big enough either!

But for those that don't know, the local communities here also said they didn't want bigger ships, smaller ships more often offers more resilience and better options for timings. And our government didn't listen to that either.

They should start doing tours!

Not often I link to gov.uk instead of gov.scot but this is a great decision that Starmer has reversed. Edinburgh were set to build this years ago, but Starmer didn't think it AI enough, showing his ignorance. But he's at least showing he can learn, so lets celebrate this u-turn instead of castigating our PM

"Scotland’s decolonization process has begun with the submission of Scotland’s case to the United Nation’s Special Committee on Decolonization (C-24)."

Dissapointing that no points re community owned farms seem to have been listened to. But really, they are burying 9 miles of it, and replacing existing infrastructure, I do think the SG right to override here. NIMBYs gotta NIMBY!

Tories, SGP, and Lib Dems nowhere to be seen. Alba didn't even stand. A bawhair between the 'big' three. SNP still without a route to independence and losing this seat, Starmer will be squeeling with glee with his comments last week

Happy Friday folks

A bit more Edinburgh centric than my usual posts, but I love the festival, so here's me promoting it. Well worth your time to have a couple of days doing shows, have fun peoples

Given my current reading is ww1 based ([email protected] for those with bookwyrm or mastodon or piefed or most fediverse other than lemmy accounts) I had to post this today, a real team effort and the part about the restorers that didn't get to see it fly was touching too. I really hope to see it making regular flights for them all

A little preview into how Holyrood next year might shale out. Turn-out will be low, so not hugely represntative, but it will point a finger in a direction. Happy Monday folks

Happy Friday! Dross is so comically main character syndrome he doesn't even want to change. Ahh, to be a Tory!

Should have been a week

Check out the gammon opposing it. Landowners of course, the lot of them

The only reason you'd be opposing national park status is because you are a hill farmer who wants to control yet more land either by removing more people, or converting to far too lucrative tree plantations. Fuck em
