I wouldn't bet on anything, but it could be. 'Barbarian' countries must constantly take into account the fragile feelings and egos of 'democratic' regimes so that things don't spiral out of control.
He also doesn't like losers who go begging for help , but is also petty and vindictive. And could keel over any day, has whatever mental faculties he has very strained.

So did legacy media. The temporary "ceasefire" and the temporary openings in reaction to Trump seem to have broken the dam of ignoring that a holocaust with western support is ongoing, it isn't going back in the bottle. And also constant escalation, of course.
No illusion that things will change soon, though.
The current president, usually very talkative and opportunistic, took the opportunity to dissappear as the scandal with his party's PM grew, and didn't even show up when the blackout crisis happened, when the government also disappeared.
That was just tame and short-lived enough to fool libs, so grave concern for about two days, followed by no mention one way or another for a couple of weeks.
