I think I am going to steal that rule for my campaign

[–] [email protected] 9 points 8 months ago

@Jezebelley
Why would I do that? I can't leave comments on Lemmy posts and Peertube videos from there!

I think people just are fed up with Twitter and are looking for the most twitter-like thing they can find. Mastodon is, frankly, nothing like Twitter. The vibes are too different.

"Also, he only exists for one of two reasons. Either he is going to have drugs tested on him in a lab (no fur means easy access to the skin) or a breeder was using him to store the genes of a recessive coloration pattern they like. If you still want one, get a heating pad for him to to stand on and some blankets for him to tunnel under, and hope he doesn't pee on the heating pads too much."

Nah, makes sense to me

@Ziggurat
Oh let me tell you about the D&D campaign I'm in. The first six months were nuts: We got hired to pick one of the emperor's 60-something kids to be appointed as the heir. By the time we left, there were four kids left alive.

Last session was a bit nuts. We got an angel fired from his job because he was bullying a snail, then had to resolve a custody battle between a coven of witches. We are level 4.

@Crafter72
I watched a good chunk of it when it was first coming out, but I had to drop it because i was frankly not in a good enough place to hear the things that show was trying to say.

@grasshopper_mouse

  1. I already know pokemon. I'm making an active effort to not be into pokemon anymore.

  2. As a kid i wasnt allowed to watch tv or play videogames, so I've been trying to catch up on the childhoods everyone else had.

  3. Trying to get out of MTG, not interested in the Pokemon TCG or the One Piece TCG because their mechanics aren't interesting to me, and there is no amount of money you could pay me to deal with the average Yu-Gi-Oh player. The Digimon TCG seems cool, though.

Which waterproof fabric is best?

@[email protected]

I have discovered cloaks, and I am going nuts making them. I have bought so much fabric in the past few days alone. They are so warm and so easy to make! However, I would like to make one that suits the purpose for which they were invented, so that I may wear it outside in the rain. Are there any good waterproof fabrics that won't fuck up my fiancΓ©e's #sewing machine?

Asking here because I don't know what I am doing.

What makes elves fun to play?

@dnd

Something I've been puzzling over with my #homebrewdnd stuff is about the classic #dnd elf. I don't really know what makes the Elves a compelling race to play. I'm thinking of changing them quite significantly for my campaign, but how far can I change them until they no longer hit the same buttons?

What dnd races are required?

@dnd

I'm making a new #homebrew #dnd setting. The mistake I felt I made last time was trying to devise an orgin from whole cloth for each playable race, which wasted a TON of time and energy while also confusing my players. So, herein I wish to ask: What playable races would you miss, if you joined my table and noticed their absence?

Humans, dwarves, halflings, orcs, goblinoids, and elves will all stay, but I am not sure about all the others.

Is ProtonVPN worth it?

@piracy

Got reminded of this while reading about ProtonMail. The reason I haven't gotten into proper #piracy is that I don't have a VPN for torrenting, and the reason I don't have a VPN is that I don't #torrent. So it would be nice if I got a good VPN while #degoogling myself.

Will ProtonVPN rat me out to Comcast? I know some VPNs don't hide what you're downloading from your ISP, for reasons I don't fully understand.

The Riddle of Steel

@dnd

I have an idea for a get-rich-quick scheme: using the Bessemer process to create massive amounts of high-quality steel. However, I'm sure my #DM has not given a single thought to this (because I know her) so I'm worried that this might give God fun #worldbuilding ideas to fuck with our party. How do I tell my group my plan, without having the industrialized slave company I know is on the other side of the map spontaneously develop a similar process?
