Hi [email protected]

I hope you are having a great day! I probably overanswered below, but I think the context is helpful and not fully a "debate". I can remove this if you think I am trying to be "debating" or "combative".

I think this post is talking about the epicurian paradox: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epicurean_paradox

I did not say that the only purpose is to "test us", I was stating that "development of human intelligence" was one of the key reasons for the plan to have evil available in this life. When I looked at that picture, I felt like it left out the possibility of "development of children of god" as a possible reason in that flow chart.

The other feedback loops of

  • "could it be done without" > "yes" > "then why didn't he" Mormons have a good why below or
  • "could it be done without" > "no" > "then he is not omnipotent"

These seem like they might be true as sound bytes, but I think they are wrong about the scope of the plan: To have God's kids become Gods.

Mormons believe that God had innumerable children before the universe existed. The children had only spirit bodies and God was the only one with a spirit and physical body. God wanted them to become more like him. He presented a plan that would include a time of "probation" (aka life on earth) where we would (1) have no memory of before (2) have choice between good and evil just like God has and (3) do the steps to gain a physical body. This life has all of these. (NOTE: most people who profess to be christian try to say that these beliefs mean that mormons are not christian. When i read Romans 8:17, I see that this is exactly what was taught by Jesus Christ and his followers.)

Mormons also believe that the evil came from one of God's children (Lucifer) offering a different plan where (1) there would be no choice and (2) all of God's children would be choosing "Good" and (3) all would be gaining a physical body. Lucifer and those he convinced were cast out of heaven and act as "Satan and his angels", and they never got physical bodies.

In conclusion: if God is trying to make his children joint heirs with christ (aka Gods) then including in the scope of the plan a choice of evil seems like something that he couldn't take out of the plan without losing the point of the whole thing.

The Mormons have "agency" (aka moral freedom) and the development of human intelligence as one of the key parts to the plan to have every one of God's kids (you and me) return to god after this life/test.

Moral freedom is not free if there are no other options to choose from. Hence the moral agents (you and me) are enticed by evil which is allowed to roam free for a time.

I memorized the following: "Port wine is red, and none is left in the morning"

Therefore Port - Left and Red and the other "Starboard" is Right and Green.

Number 1 stabilize sleep (go to bed at the same time every day and wake up without an alarm) you can use otc remedies like Tylenol pm and melatonin to help you start this habit.

Number 2 look at other things like nutrition, hydration, and exercise to get them to average

Number 3 happiness and meaningful Ness are not the same thing. Having kids makes you suffer more and become less happy, but you often feel your life is more meaningful. So ask yourself what cause is worth sacrificing happiness to? Then start doing it. Soon your happiness set point will adjust to include this meaningful Ness perspective and being unhappy won't feel tiring

I'm an athorist. I don't believe in Thor God of thunder. No comment on the definition you were talking about. :P (Psst, I do believe in a diety, but I can't talk about it here!)

My understanding is that the trinity from the nicene creed is a political document (not truthful nor religious) and it was designed to be universal(a translation of catholic) so that natives in each land (Christians and pagans) could have lip service that "we believe what you do" by the political catholic clergy who were the only ones allowed to interpret scriptures (or you had a Heretic death penalty) until the political power was secured, and after power was secured, a creed and rosary was enough to keep free thinking in line.

Well, something that the Mormons have is they tried out communism. They called it the law of consecration. They had some fun times with trying to handle being productive and redistribution and poligamous. They ultimately concluded that they weren't ready for it yet so they went back to default capitalism with tithing and poor/fast offerings.

Tl;dr: Mormons believe in a kind of communism in heaven, and they go hungry for 2 meals (24 hrs) to remember to give generously to the poor. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_consecration?wprov=sfla1

I have been thinking about further tips that have helped me. I have felt like my happiness set point has moved lower over time ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Well-being_contributing_factors ).

I have tried the following interventions stabilizing sleep, exercise (focus on cardio and stretching), cognitive behavioral therapy (which backfired spectacularly), religious texts, pgarmaceuticals, and platitude/mantra meditation.

Some insights that may help:

  • daily short religious text study is helpful. It has diminishing returns, so set a timer if you spend longer than 15 mins.
  • negative thoughts and experiences envelop like a blanket and affect every fiber of your personality. Attempting to do the opposite with platitudes is hard work (almost like flexing your abs before lifting something heavy), but doing so with thoughtful platitudes can make a positive self fulfilling prophesy.
  • platitudes used in this manner are most effective if used with purpose: what do you want right now that is difficult? Now I believe these platitudes that strengthen me because I want x!

Good luck, I genuinely hope you feel better.

Hi internet stranger. I hope you feel better. A reverse psychology method that helps me is to watch https://youtu.be/LO1mTELoj6o

Holy clothing must not be damaged unless you plan to do the ritual of discarding (shred abd burn). As a windbreaker has at least 4 holes when worn correctly, it is indeed holy.

That's ice damming. Basically it can be prevented with proper ventilation of roof cladding/shingle nail board. Normally eaves, baffles, and turtle/ridge vents will be enough to prevent icicles more than. 6 in long.

I want a tale of deliverance from pharaoh across the red Sea that feels like playing skyrim (crazy magic going on! And civil war progression)

I want to install a local version of this game in the link and preferably open source. I searched "shape game" and couldn't find anything.

Use case: before operating heavy machinery, I want to "pass" this game at 8 seconds
