I'm convinced a good number of, "media is telling our kids it's okay to choose to be gay!" crowd are closeted bisexuals.

Because being homosexual isn't a choice, so if you see gay media and think there's a choice in the matter, then clearly you're into both sides and just choosing the side that supports your indoctrination.

Hey, you should smile less!

I think I'm doing well all things considered, thanks!

The only reason I can't speak for certainty is because of my anxiety from well.. gesters at what's happening to my country. This anxiety is also making my executive distinction worse which is probably my biggest day-to-day challenge at the moment.

Yeah, my e-reader tells me about how many pages I read in an hour, or something like that, and it was kind of fun to see how fast my reading got over time. I think I've plateaued though 😅.

I have a strange remedy (that worked for me of course. YRMV): take up reading of you currently don't.

I admit it was a long journey to call myself a "gamer" again, but hear me out.

I'm a 30 year old dude who works long hours. I got myself into the trap of, "oh I don't have time to play this game, maybe some other time." When I found I did have time, the games just weren't holding my attention. "This game isn't immediately fun, and when am I going to have this much time to play again? Playing this is a waste of time. Might as well watch TV or something." Sure, every now and then a game like vampire survivors would come up, I'd be addicted to it for a week or two, and then stop. But big games with stories or something? Forget about it.

I started reading books at bed time. A chapter or two at a time. Eventually I would find a few books I couldn't put down and I read them all the time. This started scratching itches I have completely forgotten about. Some sort of deep thinking itch that was also fueled with curiosity and wonder. Reading books also re-taught me to be more patient too. It's not like I can completly absorb a story while skimming pages, right?

At some point, my headspace around my leisure time changed. If I can be happy enough just sitting down a few hours reading, then what's stopping me from being happy playing video games?

I bought Baulders Gate 3 finally and now I can't stop playing it.

It's hard to explain, but it's almost as if I've re-learned how to enjoy my time again. If only I could sedate my anxiety about everything else going on in the world. 😅

But take up reading! Try to just read 15 or 30 minutes a day. One doesn't need to completely stop doom scrolling. Just taking a break from it. Don't go into it with the headspace of "if I read, I will enjoy gaming." Just focusing on enjoying the book.

Worst case scenario? You might not be into gaming, but hey, you're a reader now!

You say that but yet they refuse to make an official moopsy plush. I would go all in on moopsy but noooo

Whenever they print out "I did that" Drump stickers, they should print out these too.

Either do something or stfu, traitor.

For a similar reason, this is why I'm thinking about getting American flag themed cycling bibs haha.

Maybe when I'm out cycling, I'll be safer because they'll think "oh wait, he has an American flag, we can't hit that!"

IMO from personal experience I tend to half care.

I personally wouldn't leave in, "Edit: a word," but if I change the substance of a comment in any meaningful way I like to leave an edit to say what changed.

Particularly for when someone already replied to my comment or may already be replying to my comment. I would be afraid of accidentally trying to gaslight someone lol.

I'm so close to making the switch. I'm just a poor soul though who enjoys games with those annoying anti-cheats. Thinking about trying to do a duel boot just for those specific scenarios.

Title pretty much!

Just wanting to limit my time for various different websites. Enough doom scrolling ..

Title pretty much. I vaguely remember a post and in the article Grandpa Musk said he was proud to finally embrace Nazism safely or something.

I tried searching for it but it's kind of hard to search with the Nazi salute taking up most of the results.

Just wondered if anybody knew the post/article I was looking for and if they could find it?

Thanks for taking the time to read this post in advance!

I have a wonderful GT Transeo which I have been using for commuting and joy rides.

I'm thinking about upgrading since I did a couple of charity rides and even a race this year as well.

I have been riding road primarily but I'm thinking about gravel or all-road bikes since drivers in my area seem to be getting more... dangerous? If I get gravel then I can either go on bike trails or drive somewhere where there is less car traffic. There's also quite a few gravel events in my area.

I've been eyeing either the Trek Domane, Canyon endurance, or the Giant Revolt. Any other bikes to look into?

Budget - Preferably $1k-$2k USD. I'm okay with going up to $3k if it's worth it. I am not looking to be a pro, just something with a little more arrow and competitive than a hybrid bike 😅. Not afraid of buying used, but the market in my area is terribly non-existent. If I look for used bikes I probably would buy through BuyCycle.com or something.

Title is pretty much all.

Some context:

I took an edible and had a thought last night.

What if I tattooed a ruler on my finger?

I never would actually do this, but my interest still piqued. Do hands keep growing? Do they stop growing? Do they shrink? How long would a finger ruler be viable until it needs decommissioned?

I'm probably going to PlanetComicon in KC because some of my friends are going, and I noticed a couple of celebrities have been involved in Trek comics!

I've been meaning to start reading some comics but keep putting it off because the amount of series to choose from is a bit overwhelming for me. I suppose now is a better time to start never!

Title is pretty much everything!

I have these high up windows that I'd like to clean and maybe in the future install curtains on. I guestimate the wall being 20ft (6m) tall.

For other rooms in the house I typically use an A-Frame, but it's impossible to find an A-Frame to reach that high where I am.

I plan on draping a towel over the top of the ladder to prevent scratches and scuffs on the wall, as well as getting a rubber mat or something if the floor seems slippery. I am just not sure if drywall would support a ladder? Especially near the frame of the windows. Maybe there's something else I'm not considering as well?

Description of image: Meme image. I can't believe he didn't cry during Titanic! Do men even have feelings? The man is crying at Picard crying in the mud.

Like, I understand listening to them while driving to work, exercising, doing chores, etc!

But sometimes you're in a moment and you don't want to stop listening, but you're done with your chores or something.

I currently just sit and twiddle my thumbs but I feel like I could be doing other things. Sorry if this was a dumb question I took an edie 😅

I'm not talking high, I'm not talking vibing, I mean absolutely covered in cookie crumbs baked.

Sometimes, it's nice to come home from an awful day at work, smoke a toke, and forget about problems for a minute.

I usually would just continue playing whatever game I'm actively into at the moment. But when you're sitting there covered in cookie crumbs, maybe trying to figure out how to play Boulder Gate 3 might be too tedious for the moment.

Vampire Survivors is what I typically play, but sometimes it's nice to have more than one option.
