"Hands Off" and "No Kings" have been great protest names. I'm suggesting the next be "Impeach and Remove," that being the name that appears at the top of each protest flyer, and the slogan that is chanted at each protest rally.

I'm further suggesting that local protests be taken directly to the offices of Congress members on a day they are there, with the demand that they impeach Trump and remove him from office or face removal themselves.

That way they can't ignore us.

I've been feeling sad about how I wasn't able to show up to the No Kings protest on Saturday, so I've been brainstorming small ways to protest for now until the next one. I made some sticky notes that I'm going to put up in my small Trump-loving town in places that people will most likely see them. It's Leviticus 19:33-34. So far I got one up on a gas pump from when I got gas today. I actually taped it on there because the sticky stuff on sticky notes aren't sticky enough lol. Is this a form of vandalism? I hope not. The cops won't come for me, right? ....right? Anyways, let me know if you think this is a good idea or not, and if you have ideas for other things I can write!

From the Semaphore article: One of the companies, Instant Pot Brands, noted that “a portion of the profits from” its forthcoming collection “will be donated to the Trump Presidential Library.” Instant Pot, which makes kitchen and home appliances, said in its release that it will offer a “45/47 Collaboration,” including various items branded with those numbers and Trump’s “Make America Great Again” tagline.

Amazing job by the organizers of this! Some good, connected news is that the largest protest was Earth Day in 1970, and that effected positive change in the U.S., including the creation of the Clean Water Act and Clean Air Act. It would be hard to argue that those two pieces of legislation weren't a good thing for most Americans. That's good company to be in. When people show up, positive change can result. When more people show up, the more likely for positive change.

It is noteworthy that I haven't seen a single major news/media outlet call out the statistical significance of Saturday's protests. Perhaps they're waiting for more official numbers from the Crowd Counting Consortium? Doubt it. C'mon journalists!!!

*the referenced article suggests the No Kings protest could be the largest single day protest in U.S. history, but this doesn't account for Earth Day in 1970.

Video Armed forces dog-piled a non-violent protester. Her latest TikTok says that he's being held federally right now.

Yes, you read that right. 6/11/25 I was protesting outside our local ICE facility in Spokane, WA. We were blocking a transport vehicle attempting to transport 2 detainees to the larger state facility in Tacoma Wa. They entered the US legally through asylum seeking. The 2 peoples in question had made all their appointments, had jobs paid taxes etc. 37 peoples in total were arrested. I was charged with local law “failure to disperse”. Most people were charged with that, except for 2 others were charged with false imprisonment. All of our phones were confiscated and we were told our phones would be off site at county property upon our release. When I and several others went to pick up our phones, we were told they had been turned over to the FBI. The agents number we were given went straight to voicemail and calls have not been returned to my lawyer or myself.

Don’t bring your phone to protests! Even with passwords and Face ID, the feds can easily get into your phone. They won’t find anything on my phone, no pics or videos of protesters that are incriminating. Just a bunch of photos of my cats. Still, I feel like my privacy has been gravely violated.

Peaceful civilians are being arrested for wearing masks during protests while ICE agents and riot police wear full facial coverings, hide their names, and refuse identification.

Trump backed new mask bans, claiming:

“If you’re not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to hide.”

Yet government agents are literally hiding their identities while dragging people off the streets.

This isn’t safety.
This is authoritarian control.

Your right to protest with a mask is protected by the Constitution.

1st Amendment – U.S. Constitution
Protects freedom of speech, peaceful assembly, and anonymous political expression.
Wearing a mask during protest is a symbolic act of protected political speech.
Read the full amendment (Cornell Law)

Legal Cases That Back You Up:

  • McIntyre v. Ohio Elections Comm’n (1995):
Supreme Court upheld anonymous political speech as protected.

“Anonymity is a shield from the tyranny of the majority.”
    Read ruling

  • NAACP v. Alabama (1958):
Government can’t force disclosure of identity when it risks intimidation.
    Full decision

  • American Knights of the KKK v. City of Goshen (1999):
Court blocked a blanket mask ban, affirming mask-wearing can be political expression.

  • Church of the American Knights v. Kerik (2004):
Mask bans must be narrow and not suppress speech.
    Case summary

This is how fascism takes hold.

First, they arrest you for what you wear.
Next, it’s what you say.
Then it’s how you believe or who you are.

Today it’s a protest mask.
Tomorrow it’s a Pride flag.
Or a cultural clothing.
Or not being Christian.

This is state power targeting visibility and identity and it’s not random. It’s calculated.

You are not their subject. You are a citizen with rights.

They want obedience.
They want fear.
They want silence.

And that’s exactly why you must not give it to them.

We demand:

  • An immediate end to unconstitutional protest mask bans
  • A federal investigation into unmarked, masked agents arresting civilians
  • Equal protection for protesters not just for the state

Resources:

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good people to do nothing.”
— Edmund Burke

This is not a time for silence.
This is not a time for fear.

This is the time to stand together.

I wasn't sure it was the right choice at first, but I now realize it was brilliant.

With all the nonsense and lies about violence and property damage being spewed by Fox News and conservative pundits, I truly appreciate the Seattle PD putting this message out early in the day.
