I am enjoying the perspectives in this book so far. I think bell hooks framing the lack of masculine love as both an issue internal in masculinity as well as an issue within the relationships between men and women is very insightful.

I can see that while I'm reading this I'll be thinking not just about my romantic relationships with women, but about how I relate to my father, my friends, and my sons, and how I might be a good model to them. This is going to be a lot of introspection
