Gonna nitpick here and be pedantic. Regardless of gear ratio, it’s all leg power. Gearing simply allows the rider to go slower, which does allows for a lower required power, but for a longer duration of time. The amount of total energy output is effectively the same.

And these billionaires could still buy a second house in Cabo with a helipad using what is remaining

Important to remember just how much a billion dollars is. Even a billionaire who has only $500m after giving away half would be able to buy a dozen of those properties. A multi-billionaire could potentially buy hundreds of similar properties with money left over. A billion dollars is a TREMENDOUS amount of money.

Emphasis on was. Bro, I don’t care. But people might not be aware that he was fired from SNL as his career was beginning to take off for using the word “chink” which sounds like it would fit most anyone’s definition of cancelled. His career has since recovered, obviously.

I think he was legit cancelled after the Chinese slur incident.

Only by certain definitions. Regardless, not all speculation is investing.

Sounds more like speculating than investing.

I was about to defend him but after refreshing my memory and reading about the Categorical Imperative I think you’re absolutely right.

because companies pollute much more

This argument drives me crazy. Companies, in this context, are the people. The companies pollute exclusively on behalf of their customers. WE ARE THE COMPANIES.

Both Microsoft and Nvidia are multi-trillion dollar companies.

They’re both horrible but the NY Post is far more tabloid-y than Fox News proper.

It was difficult, but not impossible to get one at launch. Prices on the secondhand market are also not as inflated as we saw with the PS5 launch or even the original Switch.

I managed to get one preordered and felt lucky in doing so but I think I would have managed to get one in person had I not gotten a preorder.

Nate Silver, formerly of 538, believes Biden should drop out.

I’m unable to interact with the Formula1 community on Lemmy. I’ve messaged the mods who have told me I’m not banned.

Is there a way to understand what’s happening?

I’ve own a half dozen pairs of Allen Edmonds but am wondering if there’s a similar company (American made and sourced) that are better/more comfortable/better value/ etc.

Haven’t bought a pair of shoes in 5+ years so I suspect the market has changed.
