Realized I was fluctuating in how I feel about this personally for my sense of self and was wondering how other enby ppl feel about it?

Sometimes I feel totally baffled by other people's gender and gendered social norms and cues and feel pretty strongly agender, other times I feel a pretty strong sense of my gender as being a positive kind of "thing in itself" that isn't a woman and definitely not a man, but there aren't really universally understood cues and roles for what that is interacting with cis ppl

I feel like I might be better off if I were in a culture that had an understood tradition of a third gender role but I struggle to articulate what that is

It's somewhere between futch femme and lightly masc queer "boi"? Idk

It didn't feel right IDing as a binary trans woman, but it was much better than cis guy, and enby feels right as a label but I sometimes feel like I'm not "trans enough?" Idk

I like femmy stuff sometimes but most of my clothing and style are fairly unisex

It feels kinda like when I came out as bi/pan and kinda felt from interacting with gay spaces and straight spaces that I was too queer for the straights and not gay enough for the gays

I don't wanna sound like I'm trying to be all "oh boohoo I'm so misunderstood and special" or whatever because I know it all sounds really adolescent and conceited and I'm too old for that lol but idk if other enbys have some thoughts on feelings agender vs a third gender. I guess this is where terms like "demigender" "demigurl/boi" come in? Idk

Developing a couple drafts for a creative project that's been simmering in the back of my mind for years and it's very much a pretty standard genre fare in military sci-fi with characters that are in a specops fireteam doing wetwork operator shit fightin' evil aliens that want to wipe out humanity

The more I flesh out the plot and characters in my head, the more I feel like I'm relying on trope-y plots and character types, and was wondering if anyone has advice on how to write characters that fulfill the role of a stock character type in that kind of story that still have some depth and personality that isn't just "the no nonsense leader," "wiseass with a heart of gold" "gentle giant" "stoic man of few words with a tragic past" "bad bitch that's got something to prove" "antsy pessimist that's worried the Intel's off and the op's gonna go sideways" etc

I'm working on names and personalities and character designs and they're starting to feel like they're starting to come together and I have a sense of their interpersonal dynamics, but I keep feeling like it's starting to get too derivative or predictable and feel like the beats for bringing out some characterization naturally with incidental dialogue as the plot unfolds or little character details or moments seem too shoehorned and was wondering if any writers have some tips for how to add some of that color to a script that feels natural to the genre and momentum of a story without being like "and NOW I'll add some depth to character x before we move on"

Fwiw, am a really thrifty/frugal broke near hermit

Considering dropping like two grand on a nice rifle and equipment and training with it alongside my gym routine

Debating getting either a KUSA KR-101X or a Keltec RFB and an optic and chest rig/plates and pouches, spare mags, etc for either

The KR-101X is a 5.56 AKM/74 clone that takes AR mags and looks pretty good from what I've seen, the RFB is a .308 bullpup DMR (I'm kinda a tankie and a big Halo dork, so both have their appeals)

Live in a state with a 10 round mag restriction, so that's leaning me towards the RFB.

Thoughts?

Dunno if there's a loophole for larger mags or a SBR "pistol" that might be a better option

Am I being a dumbass?

Should I get a pistol or a .22LR plinker first? Should I not drop a used car price on a rifle I might never have to actually use aside from playing at the range and running drills as a hobby?
