There's variety within any profession like this, at many points in history it hasn't been the norm for normal people in urban settings to cook their own food or have cooking facilities at home, instead they purchased food from people whos job it was to cook.

But there would still be a difference between a business serving everyday people and personal chefs/cooking staff.

You've probably already gone through a night by now but I found that after getting pain and/or tingles in my lower back from doing double heavy shifts in my internship, putting an extra pillow either under the arch of my back, or between my knees if sleeping on my side, did a lot to make it hurt less both while trying to sleep and when waking up.

Imagining a guy who finds a back route into veganism purely by interpreting the refrigeration in grocery stores as cold spots from farm animals endlessly haunting the place.

Finishing up Blowback S5 I'm really struck by how borderline criminally bad the common education is on what the Khmer Rouge ideology was actually based in and how the motives for the genocide was a sort of ethnic renaissance combining clearing foreign influence from the Khmer people with revolutionary ideals grabbed from various places, with the latter part being vague due to not progressing out of the "clearing" stage, so to speak.

Also how underexplained the simmering nationalist resentments between Cambodia and Vietnam are, as well as the dynamic between the communist movements of each fueling the conflict. And I don't mean criminal just because the popularly propagated view is anticommunist, but obscuring how historical events and tendencies developed towards genocide should be criminal within any publicly admissible worldview.

But it is of course most convenient to frame it all as leftist infighting and natural d*generation of revolutions.

It's easy to agree in principle, but various traditions as well as the logic of the system of capitalism weigh extremely heavily on us, so intergenerational abuse like this keeps surviving if left alone.

I think sriracha is supposed to be cringe now, sorry.

There was obviously attempts internally as well as the fundamental splits of the PRC and Albania from the USSR on the matter, and the split of the general international movement.

But ultimately you can't just bully the men with power out of power, and the resistance from the people was scattered and able to be dealt with individually in turn, and there were plenty of opportunists prepared to take positions with Khruschev for personal gain or perceived stability.

Criminals and crooks usually find any large scale attention unwanted.

I'm pretty sure he has already done like two "4k remasters" where he just took whatever the latest blu-ray was then upscaled and denoised/grained it with AI so it looks like dogshit.
