I know who it isn't bolso-pain

[–] [email protected] 7 points 8 months ago

If this thing can perform simple addition is be a bit surprised. I just don't really believe anything western tech claims anymore

[–] [email protected] 32 points 8 months ago

The way the media is handling this is a various indictment of journalism at absolutely every turn.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 8 months ago

Nah you gotta get in to caterpillargate. We're 9/11 truthkng Luigi's magnificent eyebrows and how the Adjuster doesn't have the same thickness or position.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Cultural heroes and mythic heroes don't need to have anything in common with the historical figure they're based on. The Adjuster doesn't have to have anything in common with Liugi. Most people are never going to read this guys manifesto. They're just going to see memes of him merking a CEO. The real person is not as important as the legend and the narrative built around that legend.

[–] [email protected] 32 points 8 months ago

This isn't a labor strike or reformism. Someone shot a healthcare CEO and every American who has ever filed an insurance claim recognized that they have a common class characterisitic that makes them enemies of the capitalist class.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 8 months ago (1 children)

One CEO getting got has brought probably millions of people out talking about how the insurance agencies have killed or seriously harmed their friends or family members. The CEO isn't the important part. Like you said, he's just a cog in a machine. What's important is that this event has brought out a conversation across the working class about the harm Capitalism has done to them. It's revealed to many people the absolute disconnect between them and their nominal leaders. It's shown them that the ruling class can bleed. Three bullets from god's most failson Italian has had an enormous impact on working class consciousness. In spite of Luigi's standard issue American reactionary brain worms. It's important because anyone could have done this and every normal human understands why he did it and agreed with this direct and violent response to the violence of capitalism.

Nah, the super nsa shit mostly doesn't work. A tip is a lot more plausible.

Some folks are speculating he got dinged using a fake id or a stolen credit card and it was just dumb luck for the cops to get him.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 8 months ago

That's how all folk heroes start out. The myth has to be built up from crude materials.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 8 months ago (1 children)

This really does happen all the time. People slip up, or someone recognizes them, or their gun falls out of their pants in front of a cop.

Alternately, the cops made it all up. I'm a believer in eyebrowgate Luigi's glorious caterpillars are not the same as the Adjuster.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Remember, folks; when you're mythologizing a folk hero you absolutely do not have to engage with the historical person that folk hero is based on.

My thinking is if they encircle Lebanon they'd have all kinds of armed factions behind them on a long front without secure supply lines.

It's just incredible how consistent views are under the western propaganda umbrella. Yeah, we're pretty consistent too, but it's weird seeing it from the outside. There's no critique, there's no self-reflection, there's often no logic or perspective of any kind. They keep yelling "sovereignty" like it's a magic word and they think it means something.

Unfortunately it's also really boring. The same people with the same childish understanding and incurious diet of media saying the same things over and over and over and over. I wish more of our team would disengage. I'm certainly not getting any wiser going through these conversations on repeat and I don't think anyone else is, either.

It's a pretty long running "joke" at this point that if there was any kind of serious revolutionary movement in this country they would have gone to war years ago, so the "Me might have to make some excuses for the lack of terror" meme has been bouncing around for years. I've been trying to think of a good theme for a related emoji but I'm struggling. Help a hexbear out. What would work in like 15x15 pixels to convey the "We're doing insufficient amounts of terror" meme?

You're be gay do crimes but are you be gay do crimes?

JFC :gulag: :gulag: :gulag: :gulag:

Look at the uploader handle.

We all know it comes down to those too, but if the great firewall came down and wwiii erupted on the series of tubes, whose posters would emerge victorious?

Never say I never did anything for the cause. We're free of this lib and their brainworms brainworms brainworms

Re: No links or ID - Idk what the rules are right now. Feel free to remove this if... I guess it violates rule 1? Idk, I'm still confused about what rules are and aren't being enforced and how.

Inspired by Tervell's gunposting

I don't want to live in an empty box surrounded by strangers where I have to drive to do anything. I don't want to live like this. kitty-cri

This isn't even a good article, but we all kinda know it. The suburb, the detached single family home, the kitchen, the laundry room, the garage, the car, they're all anti-culture weapons designed to destroy human beings and make consumers out of their bones.

Like ha ha ha I am detached and ironic but god it hurts so much having to live in this fucking anti-human nightmare society knowing that fascists turned the whole country in a labyrinth with the express purpose of creating exhausted, lonely, isolated, helpless people. It's a nightmare. It's a nightmare.

Whatever the fuck HBO is called now started this thing where all the streaming companies are destroying media to cheat on taxes, a couple of really good shows and already finished movies are just flat GONE unless someone managed to pirate them or in the case of batgirl literally steal some drives.

Folks back in the day used to go on and on and on and on about samizdat and how folks in the USSR had to carefully hand type copies of verbotten works and then pass them around, presumably under threat of being immediately sent to the GULAG forever (despite the GULAG system closing decades earlier but pay no mind to that)

Well, now, instead of censorship, we've got media companies just fucking deleting shit from history. But that's capitalism, and culture is property that a corporation can own and destroy as they please, and this is all good because adam smith invisible hand innovation blah blah blah whatever the fuck.

Either way, the long and the short of it is steal everything, be gay do crimes, keep circulating the tapes.

Seems like the next logical step. Most big games are always-online Games as a Service where your local storage is useless if the company server doesn't handshake. A lot of business and productivity software already requires subscriptions and is partially online. Every single fucking company wants to have an app on your phone so they can watch you in the bathroom. And there's talk that MSFT might start moving Windows off the PC entirely and in to the cloud.

I figure at some point it's in the shareholder's best interests to prohibit users from actually storing anything locally. Storage is really just stolen subscription revenue, when you think about it. Every time a user accesses something on a local drive they're stealing the chance for you to extort them in to paying a subscription fee.

What do think, too distopian? Back when tapes, CDs, MiniDiscs, all the old generations of data storage that you could write to at home were first circulating the media industries tried real, real hard to make them illegal to privately own. We've been fighting an escalating battle against digital (and analog I guess) IP regimes ever since then. Streaming has pretty much killed physical media afaik. I have no idea if blu-rays or DVDs are still printed for sale.

Idk, just a thought. Let me know what you think.

Freedom of belief is not an absolute right, nor is it a suicide pact. You do not have to tolerate people who want to destroy you, even if they claim they want to destroy you because god told them so. The Paradox of Tolerance is in full effect; To protect tolerance ideologies that are intolerant must be controlled, suppressed, or destroyed. It doesn't matter if they're secular, religious, or a secret third thing. Christian Fascists don't get any kind of pass because they're a religion. The same goes for Wahhabism, Hindutva, and similar ideologies that do not play well with others.

Contrast with mainline Protestants, some Secular Islamic states, and prior tolerant Hindu governments that weren't hell bent on exterminating the Muslim and non-Hindu minority.

You have every right to believe whatever the fuck you want but when you turn it in to a political movement and start harming others you are responsible for your actions.
