There's a causal link there.

These things happen. There have been lots of utterly bizarre panics throughout history. I think it's mostly evidence that people really just don't know much outside of their day to day work and core interests. Even a pretty banal unknown unknown can smash in to the general public much the say way the Chixilub asteroid smashed in to the dinosaurs.

But have you taken in to account my unique mutant trait; Astigmatism!

Never get tired of sending sisters of parvos to the big performance review in the sky.

50% of the US population reads at or below a 6th grade level. Like that's really it, the US is by and large not educated.

Congratulations to Venus and Saturn on another successful UFO panic.

I think this is mostly proof that

1.) propaganda works. People were told there were spooky drones so they went out and found spooky drones.

2.) lay people don't know anything about subjects outside their experience like drones or iding aircraft

3.) people really just don't look up very often.

Actual Ukronazi who played a very small role in spreading Ukronazi ideology in to Ukraine at the end of the the cold war. :p

Me standing outside their house with a megaphone screaming "phone usage is a symptom of alienation and the destruction of community by capital not a cause!"

I am once again requesting that :finlandcool: be added to the nations cool sectionThis time I've got a pale blue border around the Fi*ish flag to make it more visible in light mode

In honor of the burning McD's sign here's a look back to the heady days of the anti-Globanization movement of the late 20th century that was sort of the last gasp of the attempt to resist the neoliberalization of the world's economy. Please wait at least 30 minutes before milkshake ducking Mr Bosè

I barely remember 2010, but I remember Scott Pilgrim being to hipsters like Fight Club and American Psycho are to incels; They totally missed the point of the movie, thought it was aspirational, and the results in dive bars and shitty venues across America (maybe just the midwest?) were disastrous.

Was this real? Did I mandela effect it from the negative zone or something? Am I just getting old?

"Yes, he literally did what the law literally says in the way it was literally meant, but... uh... umm... look over there!" *the judge leaps out a window*

This fucking country.

I re-did Finland Cool to make it more aesthetic. It should go in the flags of the world section. If this doesn't pass muster I would appreciate some pointers on how to improve and better fit the guidelines. Gonna go do the baltics now because they're always up to something.

KGBeast (hexbear.net)

:KGBeast: for when you need assassinate captain America or something idk I just remembered this guy exists and I think it's funny imagining a KGB assassin wearing a Lucha mask and thigh high latex boots doing wetwork.

Apparently in his first appearance the KGBeast tried to kill Reagan so he's basically a hero of the people.

This doesn't really work because you can't tell the bear is supposed to be the sphere and I don't know how to map the bear on to a sphere ot make it look right. : (

All the popular narrative reduces Palestinian resistance forces to Hamas so that Palestinians can be fed in to the Western propaganda category of savage mindless Jihadis. It's bullshit when applied to Hamas, and it's bullshit because it reduces Palestinians to a single monolithic entity that can be judged and condemned as one.

Lol. Lmao. When your minister of defense was convicted for terror related charges by your own government. Looooool

Uhh... it turns out that all that "rules based international order" bullshit, aside from just being 'I do what I want", might actually be because the US doesn't have a lot of protections or rights under international law because it never ratifies any fucking treaties. Looooooooooooooool

First, the United States is not a party to a number of important multilateral treaties that constitute an essential feature of international law. It is not a party to the Law of the Sea Convention which means that it is compelled to reprimand China for threatening the ‘rules-based international order’ in the South China Sea rather than international law.Footnote 22 It is not party to a number of fundamental treaties governing international humanitarian law, including the 1977 Protocols to the Geneva Conventions on the Laws of War, the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, the Convention on Cluster Munitions, and the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention. Nor is it a party to the Rights of the Child Convention or the Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Inevitably this makes it difficult for the United States to hold states accountable for violations of international humanitarian law and human rights law to the extent that these rules are not considered by the United States to be part of customary international law.

We're just a bunch of lawless criminals, pirates, beasts of no nation, hosti humanis generi.

xi-shining Xi please bring the light of law and justice to my benighted excuse for a civilization! xi-shining

Hey folks, it's getting cold, worried about folks in my area.

Would y'all prefer a care package with socks, wet wipes, a lighter, some candy and clif bars, or would you prefer the equivalent in cash? I figure some things are probably hard to get to shops to purchase, but I wanted to ask folks who have been there and know what's most helpful.

If you would prefer a care package, what are some important essentials that you'd want to have in it?
