I hope this doesn't come off as ageist, but younger people often need to try a bunch of stuff until they find something that works for them long term. Like sudden changes in personality or likes ain't bad.

If you're not like this, or older and still do this, that's fine too.

If you've spent a little time on Twitter, you'll know that BE has had some bad takes. The guy is addicted to social media drama.

I'm case people come at me, yes he's had good videos.

The shit the capitalist media brought us. Thanks capital!

Thanks for this. As a was complaining in a post last month, libs were getting to me that long covid doesn't happen with new variants. Of course it does, libs just talk out of their ass.

Maybe I'm not getting out enough, but I feel like I know zero woman that would wear a "Hot Girls for Capitalism" shirt. Like I certainly wouldn't wear a "Sexy Guys for Mao" tank-top.

Honestly it's not that bad. I always bring a book with me.

It really is. It just feels like a default episode for a lot of creators.

land lubber privilege

Oh good if it isn't the Woke sea mob coming to police the speech of landers again. I'll have you know that I worked hard for my non-hammock bedding.

Been playing this for a week. It's much better than Factorio. Ya I felt like a fascist for having to preemptively kill bug nests in Factorio all the time.

Damnit I hate being the person who's on time to everything, because I'll always be waiting 30 for someone to show up.

You're also showing your anti-white racism. I WILL report you to the mods.

I'm fully on board with the idea that patriarchy serves the current power structure, but I struggle to put it easily into words.

As I often start my posts here, I'll say that I'm middle aged. I've been burnt by people with materially comfort and normie opinions far too many times. I didn't have a very warm relationship with my family, so much of my life was spent trying to find love through friendships. I'd do so much for my friend, only to see them ditch, betray, or sellout me. It happened time after time after time, well into the double digits. I'm not even exaggerating, I feel very resistant to forming close relationships with liberals.

Now I'm polite with liberals. And when bullshit starts, which it inevitable does, I'm not heartbroken the way I was in my 30s.

Very based. Keep it up mods!

Geez, just update your Myspace CSS like a normal person

In my experience, people don't like to be on the wrong side of an issue. When confronted with evidence, people with reactionary ideas tend to get very angry and go bad faith. I guess that would be the cognitive dissonance playing out. I think we've all seen many a lib get ultra shitty when clear facts are ruining their ideology.

So here's my history:

Around 2020ish and the protests after the George Floyd murder, many BIPOC activists were calling out the bullshit of white and/or men amongst the liberal and left crowds. For a small amount of time, maybe two months, I played around with the ideas of stupidpol and class determinism. I was probably butthurt for being silenced, which doesn't actually really happen anyways. The funny thing was that as COVID went on, it was a masterclass in how terrible white/male progressives are. Also Hexbear became big as lockdowns happened, and my thinking has changed to "white guys fucking suck, and if a marginalised person argues with you, you're better off just shutting the fuck up".

I gotta go way back in time to find the previous instance. When I was maybe 13, before the internet was a thing, I just to get really damn upset at my older sister calling out her brothers' sexism. It was a long ass time ago, but I remember feeling red hot angry at feminists. If 4chan or TikTok existed, it would probably channel me into shitty manoshpere ideals. Thankfully I was mostly occupied with WarCraft2 missions and Sim City. It's far too long ago to remember who was right.

Unrelated to what happened in my teen years, but I'm sad to report that my sister is now an insufferable lib.

I'm not linking to his video because fuck this guy. He deserves to be on the front line of Amerika's next big war.

Here's his fucking sources sheet.

I've committed 46% of Capital vol 1 to memory. I'm actively part of a people's protracted war (against my older brother). I live in the forest and I haven't orgasmed since 1991. I've self taught myself to blackbelt in 4 different types of martial arts. I don't participate in capitalist exchanges, I subsist off of fruit snacks stolen from local teens (whose parents work jobs and are therefore capitalist). Michael Parenti watches grainy videos of me talking for over an hour.

It's so frustrating being on a website where people just read books and complain about the orgs that they're part of. Where do high tier leftists go for company?

Here's a list of positions that we could change in order to allow our user base to grow:

  1. No imperialism - change to imperialism only on weekdays, with no imperialism on weekends and bank holidays

  2. Death to billionaires - change to "billionaires must all wear the same ugly hat"

  3. Committed support to AES - change to committed support to ASS

  4. Star Trek -> Rick and Morty

  5. Andor -> Pacific Rim

  6. Lenin -> Kerensky

  7. Fanon -> Hamilton

  8. Warrant Canary -> Incognito browsing

It's probably bad for a mod to be posting this. To be fair, I'm still 100% doing covid precautions, including N95 masking and boosters. I'm still actively very covid conscious.

I'm aware that there hasn't been much new research on long covid numbers after 2024, or at least nothing that I can find. Trump taking over the presidency hasn't helped. I'm very much a sciency kind of person, and I could always pinpoint a study as to why I'm still masking and being extra cautious.

Obviously caring about the vulnerable is still a very good reason to keep being cautious.

A lot of libs have been saying that "well we're all immune from multiple infections, so long covid is over". Clearly the opinions of libs should be discarded, and their thoughts are anecdotal af, but still I would appreciate some facts to keep me cautious through this difficult time.

BTW CDC pulse survey data still shows that around 10% of US adults have long covid.
