Baby Beaver is getting way more mobile, we might have to actually put the gate up soon to keep her contained.

To be fair, it was really dark and scary out, and ChatGPT was holding flashlight under its chin.

I was annoyed at the flood of SCP entries diluting the less refined but more honest creepy fiction of the initial run. But now I see that it was actually praxis.

Basically: tech billionaire got so freaked out by autogenerated creepypastas that he literally is going insane.

This is what the web was like when it was actually good.

It is hard to overstate how delusional it is to think that chemical rockets could ever compete with nuclear thermal. It's in the same category as scoffing at computers because you can just hire more people with slide rules to do your calculations.

They're trying as hard as possible to bring David Foster Wallace's vision of the future into being

Later RTSs really trended towards having giant deathball armies that moved around the map almost like a single unit. Whereas even small engagements in Brood War have an interesting geometry to them.

My wife has been hanging on for dear life to her first gen iPhone SE, because it's the only damn phone that will usually fit in the pockets on women's jeans.

So, are any of these Washington-based militias actually going to fight back against government tyranny and try to free these citizens by force? They honestly probably would have popular support if they did.

DON'T CREATE THE TORMENT NEXUS

Dems using their lame duck session in the Senate to pass some slop for their donors.

I want to host some LAN parties this winter, and am looking for some Free Software Games that would be a fun time. We already play some Counterstrike and StarCraft 2, but I want to expand into some actual Free games. Windows compatibility is a must, MacOS compatibility is desirable!

The two on my radar are:

  • Hedgewars, which seems like a strong candidate. We played a ton of Worms 2 in the 90s
  • 0 A.D., since we're already fans of RTS games.

But I know there must be some wacky ones out there which would be suitable for 30 minutes of pick up play.

The 2040 plan is mainly an ending of single-family zoning. Anecdotally, I've seen a lot more apartments going up around the Twin Cities in the last few years. The Frey regime are neoliberal ghouls, and this is a classic YIMBY approach to tackling housing shortages. The opponents of this plan are somehow even worse, an astroturfed army of KKKarens.

Choice quote: "Residents of color already face significant barriers to home ownership, which would have been exacerbated under the plan as a result of reduced access to and availability of single family properties," said activist Nekima Levy Armstrong, a member of the plaintiffs' legal team, in a statement calling Tuesday's ruling a "major victory."

What are the Hexbear thoughts on this whole situation?
