I'm on the train rn and there's been a NASA guy loudly talking about work stuff with another guy for the last hour

Apparently they keep losing their engineers and scientists to the private sector (mostly SpaceX) and they just lose their knowledge and know how of how to do things because there wasn't adequate knowledge transfer before they left

Like NASA apparently can no longer manufacture ceramic coating on rockets for re entry or something like that because they lost the one guy responsible for that to SpaceX, among many other things I didn't understand

My phone might explode if I downloaded all the albums I've listened to

walking down the embarcadero in SF at midnight with my friend coming home from the panchiko show and we walk across a group of 6-8 dudes in their 20s that I instantly clocked as programmers. As we near them, they were talking about playing the "penis" game but with the word "vinegar"

They proceeded to take turns shouting "vinegar" increasingly louder into the night and laughing their asses off from because they were "cleverly" saying the n-word

Fuck this city omg

They're supplying whoever wants them, Iran chose Russian equipment over Chinese

Also Zionists are not buying Chinese weapons

Y'all are not gonna like this but I think it's in China's best interests to keep their allies like Russia and Iran fighting for as long as possible rather than joining and help win the war and they definitely recognize this. Non intervention has a big benefit of being to supply people with weapons and materials for a long amount of time. Essentially the same method that US took to become a superpower after WWII

Until their borders and sovereignty are threatened again like the Korean War, they'll never join any war in any real capacity other than trading more and making cash

If they're founders of a profitable startup with hundreds of employees they're no longer PMC they're just capitalists

They 100% are, their LinkedIn posts are all just bits, and their billboard Ads are all puns and jokes. There's one that says something like "All of your data is ready right here when you PostHog"

Also do you mean class traitors to proles or the bourgeoisie? Because I've checked out their careers website and they had all the classic signs of a shitty toxic startup

"One of the hardest parts about building a high performance team, is letting people go when they aren't performing. We are decisive and do this faster than many others would."

"While we will give direct feedback, if we don't see this being responded to quickly ahead of letting someone go, we will part ways, so people can find a job they are better suited to, and so we can find a team member better suited to the job."

"Personality traits that cause people to be successful here Genuine builders. Some people do jobs for the money. Those that have truly found their passion are far stronger."

"Why you should not join. Getting a pay rise. We pay generously, but you'll need to love building to be happy here."

They also pay about middle of the market rates so not actually that generously. And their severance is only 4 months, slightly higher than average but nowhere near European companies (6-18 months). For reference Amazon gives 2 months and Meta and Google also gives 4 months

Yea, I've never gone through an employment background check for renting though but your way is definitely more bulletproof

Gen AI a fake offer letter for some recognizable company in the area with a start date in the future. That way you can dodge employment verification on the off chance they do it

Gonna recommend Yandex here. Same privacy and data collection issues as Google but the search works way better most of the times. And they don't take down copyrighted material so it's super easy to find pirated illegal streams or books

Only worse sometimes if you're searching for something dependent on Western culture/slang

I think Mexican. There's tons of Asian dishes without any beans but so many Mexican ones have beans
