I love that just tying Karl Marx into chat gpt is enough to turn it full on communist

I briefly tried out AI dungeon yesterday after it was mentioned on here and all I did was name my peasant character Karl Marx and it threw a bunch of bandits at me (deftly defeated via karate) and immediately after, with no prompting other than the character name, it went OFF on the feudal class society and how its economic structure created the conditions for these bandits. It was great

Based ChatGPT.

Marx did write a lot.

We should have generative AI but they should all be trained on Marx

[–] [email protected] 15 points 2 years ago

we shouldn't it will be humiliating as fuck to have an idealogy named marxist-leninist-maoist-chatgptism around when it eventually writes a banger

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 years ago

The problem is such an LLM is going to create economics equations that sound right but are completely wrong and then just make Marxist education even more confusing.

Hexbear AI just calls you a lib and shows you a picture of a pig with poop on its balls

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 years ago

If we all take a picture of a pigs balls and a turd, train stable-diffusion on it, we would have the makings of a bot that could generate a new PPB on demand.

You use firefox because you want to support a freer web and software landscape.

I use firefox because it's the only web browser preinstalled in virtually all GNU/Linux distributions.

We are actually not too different now that I think about it.

I use Firefox because it took forever for Chrome to get vertical tabs working and after all these years, it's still apparently janky as fuck.

Been using FF since XP. Then it was iceweasel when I got into Linux. I can't remember when iceweasel became FF again. Seems so long ago.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The reason that Debian had their Firefox called "iceweasel" for a while is that the Mozilla Public License (MPL) says that if you modify the code, you have to change the logo and trademark names. Iceweasel was exactly the same as Firefox but it had some tweaks to make it run better on Debian.

I know, just can't remember when IW went back to FF. It seems like yesterday and forever ago! I could look it up but sometimes its nice to be blissfully unaware of the passage of time.

Iceweasel days were a great time in my life!

It's still Iceweasel on GNU FSDG compliant distributions (notably GuixSD and Parabola). Not that it's an actual pressing concern nowadays.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

They have an optional crypto component thats easily tossed aside. Its done a fair job of blocking ads for me so far.

Both are repackaged Chromium. Opera used to be its own browser, but now it's not.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago

Yeah, I just use Vivaldi because it does more. Also, the New Tab page is the best.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Haven't heard of vivaldi before. Might check it out.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

It's the best. Highly recommended.

You're welcome!
