Eh, I think class rape is a better description of what's been going on in America for the past few decades.

Buffett is a self-aware wolf

Dunno about that. He's no ally of the working class, but he's intelligent enough and not-enough-of-a-psychopath to recognize that infinite war on the poor does not create stable and prosperous societies.

Buffett wants a 'sustainable', ideological Rhineland capitalism of the sort that predominated in his youth, and he's probably genuine in expressing a desire for that. Insofar as that's concerned, he's an enemy of the complete psychopaths who can't think beyond the next quarter which dominate our system, and the manic pseudolibertarians who insist that one more regulation cut will lead to infinite prosperity.

He's less of a self-aware wolf critiquing others for actions he himself performs, and more a wolf with an ability to plan beyond the next quarter, thinking that infinite gluttony will destroy the flock he feeds on. Most of his criticism is based around government policy and the rich working to strip government policy of what few safeguards it has for the poor (a crime he generally works against), rather than the behavior of private firms (a crime he generally both indulges in and approves of).

Damn, @[email protected], how do you find the time to post to Lemmy 2647x a day and then write a succinct critique of Laissez-faire capitalism?
