Technology induced problem solved by yet another layer of problematic tech. Capitalism, ho!
Technology
A nice place to discuss rumors, happenings, innovations, and challenges in the technology sphere. We also welcome discussions on the intersections of technology and society. If it’s technological news or discussion of technology, it probably belongs here.

anxiety is a symptom of many mental disorders, not a sole disease.
Lol sure, what a crock of shit. All future technology is essentially going to be used to control, advertise and Oppress us. A Techno-fuedal surveillance state.
I haven't read the article but tbh, the first thing that popped into my head "for only $9.99/month". Another thing adding the litany of life's problems caused by technology lol
Hell. To. The. No.
This is no different than the electroshock 'therapies' that were pioneered from 1930 and onward through the 1990s used to treat people who were "Mentally ill". This is based in medical quackery and this is highly problematic that it once again is being suggested.
I note that you reported this post as "wild misinfomation". Now I'm totally ignorant on the topic, so can you elaborate some more on how this is ECT?
On face value, the Wikipedia article you posted describes ECT's purpose is to induce a seizure.
Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is a psychiatric treatment that causes a generalized seizure by passing electrical current through the brain
The article mentions something much milder
by wearing a small device that applies mild electrical micro impulses
ECT sounds horrific, but without further information, the articles only similarity is "electric meets brain", but without the seizure part.
Technology isn't inherently bad, obviously, but in our current world it's primarily owned, controlled, and advanced by bad groups and people (for-profit companies, governments, and the rich). Until we actually extricate ourselves from this situation, we should be very wary of looking to technology for cures to out problems.
